CBS “reimagining” After Trek for season 2

Or he's just an augment Klingon

If he is augment Klingon then why his true identity as a Klingon was exposed only by Kirk, using a tribble and not by any medical scan during his work as human impostor. 100 years earlier Phlox didn't have any problem with identification of augmented Klingon.

Fair enough.

I couldn't watch it. The host was annoying as hell. I think I got through about 2 and a half episodes before giving up. Looking back it's really embarrassing how the showrunners tried to pretend the entire season wasn't going to be a badly executed mess. They did a good job of projecting confidence in their show. I'll give them that.

Going one further, Jayson...

"From the back of the room Picard quietly surveys the bridge of the Discovery and it's crew as they go about their daily onboard lives, then he turns and walks towards a large open arched doorway, he speaks one last time as he walks under it, "Computer, end programme"..........The End........(Cue Discovery theme) :p:lol:

What if this is actually the new format. Stewart hosting in character as Picard disseminating past events...

That would be cool but no way Stewart would do Picard again I suspect. I could see him playing a wacky version of himself though much like he did in that scene of him in "Extras." As for someone doing this show while in character though I could see them having the actress who plays Tilly to kind of play TIlly again for the show. Granted she is a upcoming actor so you might end up having to settle for for one of the background actors instead.

"People are always saying to me, 'Will you be Jean-Luc Picard again?' And I cannot think that would be possible, but there are ways in which something like that might come about," the iconic actor told The Hollywood Reporter, speaking from the sidelines of the Dubai International Film Festival, where he received an honorary award.

"But one of my dreams is to work with Tarantino. I admire his work so much, and to be in a Tarantino film would give me so much satisfaction. So, if he is going to direct something to do with Star Trek and there was the possibility of dear old Jean-Luc showing up again and doing that for Mr Tarantino, I would embrace it."

I thought not long ago that Stewart said he would come back and play Picard if it was a good fit?

Yes but would he consider a good fit being a "Talking Dead" type of aftershow? I mean he in away has played Picard already before in a few Trek comedy bits on "Family Guy." but unless they really got serious into making this show into something special i'm not sure he would do it. Granted if they were to ask him to play Picard as a host though that would in itself indicated that were trying to do something unique so it would I guess all depend on just how much CBS cares about the show.

That I do not know. I imagine if the money is right, and it is a fit for his schedule, and it is something he is actually interested in doing, then he would make it work.

When I first heard of him working on American Dad, I wasn't sure he could do comedy. He is a talented man.

Not only that but with his age and his medical condition and the fact that he has already shown he is willing to take a job as a voice actor I'm not sure he would see himself at this point of being to good for it. It's not like he wouldn't have time to do other things he wants. I'm pretty sure Chris Hardwick must have 20 jobs right now. I do think the quality would be important. He wouldn't just sign up for something that is shit. That's right! I'm setting up someone's awesome Emoji movie joke.:) TIme to deliver!

The producers would do well to move the production out to LA, it really doesn't make much sense to me to film it in NYC.
Since Disco films in Toronto, New York is probably much easier for the actors to make back and forth trips to than LA would be. Especially since New York is in the same time zone as Toronto.
Not only that but with his age and his medical condition
Medical condition? Patrick Stewart has arthritis, which is treatable and no cause to start writing an obituary.

I'd love a sketch thingy with Stewart as Picard and everytime some contradictory canon stuff comes up he'd say something like "I'll explain later", like the Daleks in "The Curse of Fatal Death".

What if "After Trek" became more fun and popular than the actual show? I think deep down what we are asking for is the very first Star Trek Variety show to play right after the latest episode! It starts off with Patrick Stewart Riffing with guests and before you know it you end up having Dancing Ferengi and Shatner singing "Spaceman" by David Bowie.:)

We're going to end up with something like the Karaoke Battle with Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana ...

:guffaw:

It couldn't be any worse than Discovery.
Set up your Haterade stand somewhere else, pal. :p

Honestly, it would be how I feel about Talking Dead's relationship to "The Walking Dead" and "Fear The Walking Dead", except that I'm still really, really enjoying "Discovery", rather than forcing myself to watch because I don't want to waste the invested time I've already put into them like I'm doing with the Dead shows. ;)

*GASP* You mean the two shows aren't the same universe? ;)

But then you have people insisting he has to be a Forehead Klingon because he was referred to as being surgically altered in DS9. Never mind the fact that line was spoken in a scene before the DS9 characters learned Klingons without forehead ridges were once a thing.

Well Dax knows Klingons had flat heads back then but also complimented the quality of the surgery.
