Patrick Stewart asked about Discovery

Actually when the program shuts down we see a very old Riker wearing a "All Good Things" outfit standing on a empty holodeck. As usual Riker has being using the holodeck to spy on the past for how to behave and he wanted to check out that one time Picard did it as well. He walks out of the holodeck and then that also fades into a courtroom slash Holodeck where we see a even older Riker in a prision jumpsuit. Seems all his spying on all the other crews has finally caught up with him. Not content to let him be the peeping tom of the universe he was finally arrested. The jurors were just seeing evidence of his previous spying. Judge bangs a gavel and says "Guilty" and two Starfleet officers hull off a very old RIker to his cell.

Which then cuts to a scene of an old Trip using the Enterprise-era holodeck technology from that ship he got pregnant on to watch some scifi, establishing that only Enterprise is canon and the rest is a simulation of a possible future

I love it. :techman::devil:

And Trip's all, like, "those are Klingons... what happens? Some kind of virus... genetic engineering..."

Wasn't there some comment made by Picard at some point that he was the first Picard to leave the solar system.

Yep. He helped start the first Mars colony I think it was. It means by this point that Picard should have had offspring and thus you can have an new Picard who you can do anything with. He can be on earth or out in space.

Jean-Luc was the first Picard to leave the solar system, per Nemesis ("I was the first Picard to leave our solar system. It caused quite a stir in the family, but I'd spent my youth..."). That means every previous Picard is confined to the solar system.

Of course it also means that at least one previous Picard has left Earth. Possibly for Mars or Jupiter Station or wherever within the system. Otherwise, Jean-Luc would've said he was the first to leave Earth, or the first to leave France or something.

I think it's in Generations, he mentions being told stories of the Picards who were amongst the first settlers on Mars, not him. And this is the reason he couldn't claim to be the first to leave Earth in Nemesis. I suspect, that might have been the line otherwise.

Yeah, it's in Generations. "The Picards who settled the first Martian colony" are among those mentioned that Picard learned about as a small child.

Which then fades out in a distorted way to Benny Russell sitting in his asylum room who then starts jotting more story ideas on his walls.

But then the real Benny Russell wakes up in a street by a store with a color tv in the window that is on display to be sold. It's 1966 when "The Man Trap" was first aired. He passed out because times are hard being a black Sci-Fi writer in the 1960's and trying to get work and respect and he just left a bar to drown his sorrows and he simply got drunk. He see's "Star Trek" being shown on the tv. He yells out "Roddenberry you asshole! You stole my idea!" Turns out Roddenberry who he thought was a drinking buddy was actually stealing idea's from him the entire time.

OK, that's actually very funny as well as resonant and poignant, but they'd never do that, no no no....
