So Ford is back, but less than a simulacrum-- more like a ghost in the machine. His consciousness has been duplicated, but can only exist in a virtual space, otherwise he would go plumb loco like the old Scottish guy.
So there were some developments in this episode, most of which involved characters dying, which is about the best Westworld season two can do. Maeve is all shot up, but will probably survive (because she's Maeve and because weasely guy is there to save her), but managed to add hypocrisy to her list of artificially intelligent character failings when she complained to Dolores about reprogramming Teddy. And the Man in Black got shot up quite an amazing amount, but is still crawling around-- a couple of weeks ago I was wondering if his daughter was a robot, but now I'm wondering if he's a robot. And Hale managed to avoid death by Dolores by the skin of her jugular, but it was kind of fun to watch her inner coward come out and beg. Too bad we didn't get that from MIB. Other than that, we had about fifty-five minutes of shooting, stabbing, punching, and adolescent gender relations.
But the best part was undoubtedly the roomful of Bernards. I hope this isn't just a tease, because I want to see the Bernards in action en masse by the end of the season.
