"5 Reasons Kathleen Kennedy Needs To Step Down From Lucasfilm" By John Campea

It's certified fresh with the following blurb:

That's weird, the prerequisite for "certified fresh" is 75% or higher, Ghostbusters 2016 is at 73%, and the top critics score is rotten.
Jay Bauman from RedletterMedia called it "the biggest piece of shit he's ever seen"... Although Jay Bauman is a pretentious douche bag.

..isn't that far off, as much as you like to think it is.
That's really nice that you think people would have the same problem if these people were men, but there's obviously no way to test that. What we do have is a long history of male lead shows and movies. How many buddy cop movies have one guy going for a suicide run and his partner saving his ass at the last second and finding another way to catch the baddie? How many eyebrows did that raise back in the day? How many cunning, secretive, smart dudes that do an asspull plan they had all along at the last second exist? Did people whinge about [insert favourite detective dude here] waiting to reveal who done it till everybody was in the room at the end? Did Kirk or Picard always fully explain everything to everyone? Were those such massive problems too?

Not to mention "It's just something I gotta do, it has to be me"

If Holdo was a dude, she would be glorified as a Robau-tier character, but she's not, so her actions get intensely scrutinized. Even if you think that the criticism is valid, to outright dismiss that gender bias could be the reason why that scrutiny is applied here is just being deliberately glib.

Maintaining and controlling organised lines of communication where the right people know what they need to know and there's no confusion is typically the sign of a logistical and strategic success. Most generals do not discuss the finer details of their strategy with each and every NCO under their command. Quite simply Poe Dameron had no need to know what she was planning.

Fair point. Droids in the SW universe definitely seem sentient, but are all of them? The level of sophistication probably varies depending on a function they were built for.

Yeah, I get the impression there are different levels of sophistication. It's hard to see combat droids being on a par with L3, C3P0 or General Grevious.

What masochistic narcissist still works as a critic in 2018?

Who the fuck still listens to one?

I get paid for cumbersome engineering stuff... These people get paid to watch movies and shitpost about them. Sounds like a hell of a gig to me.

Who the fuck still listens to one?
Lots of people. It's been hypothesized that Mr. Plinkett's poisonous "reviews" of the prequels (to some degree) influenced Lucas' decision to sell the franchise.

"Why would I make any more, when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?”

The Internet was terrible to George, and for this it'll never get my forgiveness.

I don't think KK is going anywhere...…….I don't think she deserves to. SW since she took over is massively profitable. I only see two things she needs to improve on. 1) Vetting your directors much more thoroughly before you announce them and give them the keys.2) Come up with a plan for the future and stick to it. There are ALREADY too many things in development. TV Show, Johnson trilogy, Episode IX, any other stand alones (Obi-Fett-Lando?) They seemed very focused out of the gate and shits gotten blurry. Make the new plan, announce it, and get busy.

With salted popcorn.

And at least eight scoops of ice cream.

And Diet Coke, it's healthier.
Yesterday, while seeing Solo, I munched on salted popcorn, roasted almonds and drank regular Coke. Shit was so cash.

I haven't read through all this but I get the feeling this guy would have made a video of "5 Reason Kathleen Kennedy is The Right Person for Lucasfilm" had Solo made big bucks on opening weekend.

I mean honestly, yes there is an absence (now that EU is out the door) of evidence for or against what Luke did in the gaps of ANH-ESB-RoTJ.
Not really, there are 50+ canon comics, and at least two novels featuring Luke set between ANH and ESB. I've read around 20 of the comics so far.

3. Luke didn’t face Vader until three years after he received his lightsaber. We no longer have any comic books or novels going for or against the notion that he used the lightsaber between ANH and ESB. I mean he probably did; it would hard to imagine he didn’t. And to be fair, Vader mopped the floor with him on Cloud City.
We see Luke use his lightsaber a lot in the first 20 issues of the canon comic, and while I haven't read the novels with Luke, I find it very hard to believe he doesn't use his lightsaber in them. He even had a pre-ESB encounter with Vader in one of the comics, and obviously managed to survive with even less training than he had during their encounter is ESB. I honestly can't remember how much of a fight it was, but I think the fact that he was even able to survive is pretty noteworthy considering how many fully trained Jedi didn't.

It's as simple as...
