Spoilers Supergirl - Season 3

Well its nice to see this season they remembered Mon-El does actually have superpowers. Now all I need to see is him use them to win a fight one on one.

I didn't like how the new Alura sounded like she was someone Kara ran into at an Earth coffee shop. The dialect/accent/cadence whatever didn't fit for me.

I don't recall Laura Benanti's accent being notably different. Besides, most screen Kryptonians over the past 40 years have had English accents (or New Zealand in Russell Crowe's case), and that's an Earth accent too.

Looks like Supergirl is leaving in the next episode. Looks like it’s time for Superman to take over. Could make season 4 interesting

I would  your comment, if Hoechlin's Superman were not so :techman:.

I mean, if Benoist's Kara actually left for good, I would be totally :wah:, but when Hoechlin's Clark showed up to replace her, I would still be like :adore:.

Well Melissa Benoist is currently doing a show on Broadway, so hypothetically if the schedule of that would clash with the start of filming I could see them doing a mini arc of National City without Supergirl at the start of the season, but I'd rather see people already there stepping up, rather than bringing in Superman.

Yeah... I'd be glad to see more Superman, but he's already busy defending Metropolis. And even without Supergirl, NC has a couple of heavy hitters in Martian Manhunter and Mon-El. (Who could really use a code name. Apparently he's gone by Valor and Champion in the comics, and also by Marvel Lad, though that's probably a non-starter here.)

It won't. Her run ends in August, and shooting on Supergirl will start thereafter. What her Broadway run might do is push back the start of the show's broadcast run, but it won't directly affect the actual shooting of the show.

What I'd like to see them doing with Mon-El is what they did the last couple of episodes, actually show us his powers outside of hand-to-hand combat. Episode before last we saw him actually use super-speed. I don't recall that being commonly done in this series, especially not with Supergirl, who we know is about as fast as Season 3 Flash. It's like they both only ever fight at 30-50% power almost all of the time.

I get the budget might be constrained at times, but some of those effects are really quite simple...on the other hand, if Supergirl and Mon-El actually fought at full power and it was depicted on screen, they'd likely be OP and not much would pose a real threat to them.

Superman isn’t just a one city guy though. That’s what weird about this season. We have a Kryptonian threat and he’s no where to be seen.

And to fix that, all that needed was a few lines of exposition to state "Kal/my cousin/Superman is at the Fortress of Solitude going through historical crystals, looking for anything that may help, but he's also been dealing with <insert fairly significant local threat here> in Metropolis, so it's slow going."
