Before I start I would just like to point out I have VERY POOR computer skills and I have tried google but could only find videos of commodore 64 and plus 4.
I have a very old commodore 16 and today me a a few friends tried to get it to play some games without any luck.
Could anyone here tell me from looking at the screen cap above if that is what we are suppose to be seeing when I first switch it on?

Your image is not showing up. Can you use some hosting service besides photobucket? That no longer works.

C64 games don't actually work on a Commodore 16. I am pretty sure VIC-20 programs won't run on it either, either in cart, disk or cassette. I know nothing about the Plus 4 so i cant answer that. The 16 was kind of an ugly duckling. It was an interesting idea that came out too early and didn't last long. I was stuck with the Texas Instruments computer at the same time, I can commiserate. The 128 came out almost a year later and was an infinitely better machine. There are ways to get programs to work on them if you dont have the carts but its so convoluted (be prepared to splice cables, download cassette files and use your modern computer as a virtual cassette drive) you'd be better off avoiding it.

You can pick up a used, working C-64 for very little, and should get a good library of games with it.

Or you can buy a new one with games included: https://thec64.com/

You should just see a screen telling you it's commadore basic and a flashing curser ready for you to type run and have the tape deck load a game.
