CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

all the other fan productions did not come close to looking any way as good as the short prelude to axanar show.
Did we watch the same video?? All I saw was a few actors (and one wanna-be actor) dressed up in some sort of Trek-ish costume sitting in chairs reading from a script, with some pretty CGI thrown in. There were no bridge scenes (nor could there be, as there was and still is no bridge set) or elsewhere that might identify the location as being in Star Trek.

This calls to my own mind repeated scenes from 'The Princess Bride'. Vizzini was always using the word 'inconceivable' to describe what was happening. Inigo Montoya finally says: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

"Well, I think this is a common sentiment." I don't think the word 'common' means what the writer thinks it means.

Axanar was handsome enough, but talking heads in a documentary fashion is comparatively simple to do. And when you don't need an actual story with a narrative arc, and just have people telling anecdotes, you don't need to worry about the script being very good.
Nicely said. It was wasn't it; a handsome little production. The talking heads documentary style appealed to me in its uniqueness. Not 'more' than the others (series/fan productions), just appealing to me in its unique little presentation. I can also recognize that the story & narrative arc needed not be complicated, fleshed out in depth. Less was more to me in its appeal to me.

The point you are missing is sometimes less is more.

Its better to have no bridge set, than have one that looks shit or have a set that looks even worse that the original TOS one. I can only give my opinion on what I like, and I loved the music, the theme, the cgi, the cast, and the whole plot of Axanar

I have seen some of the other fan stuff and it simply does not come close, some of them are embarrassing and I cannot turn them off quick enough. Thats not to fault their creators love, time and effort. and passion for their projects, I praise them for their efforts, but I dont like most fan productions, Axanar I did like.

I know this wont sit well with those that create fan productions, as in the past many cried over my opinion, and thats what it is, just my opinion. and I thought prelude to Axanar was the best fan made thing I have ever seen and its just a pity things went tits up

Can't tell if joking, or you really have that much ego about your opinion on fan projects.

The only argument I will make is that once you peeled away the layers, Prelude really wasn't a fan film in any sense of being the product of amateurs. I think just about every productions has professionals somewhere in the mix, but it really is an apples to oranges comparison. Having said that, I have always said that I enjoyed Prelude and am deeply disappointed that the whole thing went sideways for some reasons that we know all too well and probably other reasons of which we know not.

Does my opinion hurt your feelings ?
I have noticed every time you have ever replied over the years to me its always to have a sly dig, and that only confirms you are still hurting because of my comments on fan productions appeal to me in the past and you still sulk over it.

So go right ahead, call it ego, say I have a bad attitude, call my stuff rubbish, cry to a moderator, do whatever you want to do, but in the end it wont change my opinion, one that I am entitled to have.
The faster you grasp this simple concept, the faster you might mature and learn to move on and not get hurt everytime you read something you do not like.

Honestly, I couldn't give a damn what your opinion is - you're entitled to whatever it is. I'm simply amazed at how important you believe your opinions are to other people, which your litany of condescension would imply.

so you claim to not give a damn about my opinion but still state you are amazed at the same time with it.

As I already said the faster you come to terms that in life there will be people who you don't agree with the faster you can develop, learn and mature as a person.
So instead of derailing the thread and making it about your sensitive feelings I wont be responding to you in future.
I am sure you can find someone else who has an opinion you dont like and chase them instead, and moan how they have the audacity to give their own opinion.
