Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I & II

Although both games were amazing, IMHO these games are what set up the negative response to The Last Jedi ('Luke didn't kick enough butt!' et. al) and that's a negative about those games for me. Jedi's are peacekeepers who use the Force for defense, never for attack, as Yoda said-and that's what Luke did when he mind-fucked his wayward nephew in the final battle. All of what went on in the game (and in most of the tie-in novels that everybody loves way, way way, too much) has colored fan's reactions to the movie.

And slapstick Superman was done (Lex)... that's why you didn't see another Superman flick for almost two decades after those 80s debacles.

It's also why Man of Steel was different and serious (as was Superman Returns, in its own way) along with Batman Vs. Superman, Suicide Squad (with some funny bits, like this one) and Justice League, why, IMHO they were better for being so. Altering them to be more like the MCU is wrong, (again, IMHO), and won't work.

Luke not being overly aggressive or incredibly powerful were far from the root of TLJ's problems.

IMO it actually looks better in that pic. It's almost as if it matters how a costume is lit and shot, which somehow affects the context in which it's presented, and just "maybe" a surreptitious picture from a telephoto lens in flat natural light isn't quite what the costume designers had in mind...

Do they give oscars for worst costuming? If so, Captain Marvel looks like they'll be taking home some gold. The absolute worst superhero costume in a modern superhero movie. It makes the movie X-men costumes look good, and they usually just wear cheap, lame looking leather suits. Also Jude Law is there. He doesn't seem to be wearing anything in particular, but I just know they'll pull another completely made up green pile of crap costume out for him if he's playing Mar-Vell.

I guess DC making the only good female led superhero movies is just something the MCU is letting them have. Maybe they just feel sorry for DC, so they're letting them have the good female led movies and are actively sabotaging their only female superhero movie. Its really the only explanation for the shit we keep seeing.

I don't really care what he's wearing. I was just taking another opportunity to shit on the worst costume in any MCU film, that pile of green and blue shit they stuck on a random blonde woman and then declared her to be "Captain Marvel". Law could be wearing a comic accurate version of Mar-Vell's costume with its actual colors and it wouldn't matter, because he's not playing the title character. They've fucked over the main character, so nothing is going to compensate for that (and besides that if Law is wearing a uniform or costume at any point it will definitely be complete shit, too).

Clark Gregg is not a surprise, but Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou are. I knew the movie involved the Kree, obviously, but it never occured to me that we'd see those two again.

I'm so happy to see Clark Gregg returning to the movie side of the MCU. It seemed almost too obvious an idea to bring back Coulson since Captain Marvel would be set in the '90s, but I was worried it wouldn't happen because of the increasing film/TV divide.

Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou returning as well is a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. I suspect Korath will still be just a secondary henchman, but hopefully they'll give him and especially Ronan a little more depth than they had in GotG.

Did you pay any attention to what the people involved with the movie said after the first pictures of the costume came out?
