I meant leads or recurring from EFC. I know a few have played one or two time roles in both.
I guess I need to be clearer in my thoughts.

I certainly hope so.Season Two will be about explaining the Trill changing their look between "The Host" and the rest of Trek, while refusing to acknowledge or explain the change in the Klingons.
Obviously he didn't get the role, but Robert Leeshock (Liam Kincaid) auditioned for Captain Archer.I meant leads or recurring from EFC. I know a few have played one or two time roles in both.
There are at least five people who were on EFC and then ENT, so he's far from the first.
Peter Mensah, Larissa Laskin, Bruce Gray, Steven Allerick.
What!? Earth Final Conflict lasted 5 seasons!? I remember watching this when I was younger but I thought it was canceled around season 2. Had no clue it continued. I guess the station I was watching it on in the US just didn't show the next season. The only thing I can recall seeing Alan Van Sprang on before was in EARTH FINAL CONFLICT's season 5 as Howlyn, the Atavus leader. I thought he was okay, despite the material of that season.
I can't recall any EFC actors working in STAR TREK... wonder if we'll see more Roddenberry series crossovers. Maybe a few from ANDROMEDA...
No idea, I just looked up both shows on IMDb and those were people who were on EFC and then ENT.I remember Bruce Gray playing Surak...but who were those other people?
Fans hate it if anything new challenges their sensibilities of what the franchise should be.
Fans hate it because it's helmed by people that don't understand their respective franchises, not because "they changed things" which is absolutely laughable in regards to Discovery and Star Wars since both franchises seem to be caught in the same trap of wanting to create something new, but don't have the guts to actually do anything new without relying on the names and trappings of what came before, then just doing it 100x worse.
These "Seq/preboots" are the absolute worst fucking trend in Television and Hollywood atm. Not only do we get a shitty reboot that nobody wanted, but we because it's a sequel or prequel, it actively shits all over the original and because they "want to craft their own path" they're actively destructive to the original.
Star Trek hasn't been hit as hard as Star Wars though where Disney Wars pretty much erases literally the entire OT from existence in the story because they wanted to retread "Empire vs Rebels" again.
I figure Star Wars will continue on long and strong, despite the supposed "hatred" of the production team.I love it. I love both of them. I'm gonna go create a new CBSAA account and buy 5 separate copies of the new SW movie this week just to show my support. I look forward to enjoying the hell out of more of the same, especially if it pisses other "fans" off. That's part of the fun, after all.

Because I'm not a fanboy to anything that has a the brand name attached and can view things for it's own merits unlike much of modern fandom which sees a brand name and then just has to pretend it's perfect and good.It amazes me the assumption of malice and hatred towards these franchises by a production team. That makes no sense.
I'm honestly not certain. But, it still saddens me that the assumption that because a production team does something that isn't agreeable, or expected, they must suck.Is there a production team of any sacred franchise that ISN'T hated by rabid nerds these days?
Or some people might actually, genuinely, enjoy the show.Because I'm not a fanboy to anything that has a the brand name attached and can view things for it's own merits unlike much of modern fandom which sees a brand name and then just has to pretend it's perfect and good.

I don't think Star Wars is perfect and good (in fact, it is kind of dumb) nor is DISCO. But, they are enjoyable and entertaining. That's what they are supposed to be, not deep philosophical musings on the human condition.
I agree with most of your larger points, but this one stuck out. I genuinely feel that this is most important aspect. I want new things, even if it fails. I would rather it try and fail, than simply continue on.Man, I'll tell ya...I couldn't be like that. I'd much rather they try new approaches and fail than just keep churning out the same tired, passionless stuff year after year for half a damn century.
Again, the production teams are in an impossible situation, so might as well try something new. But, like I said earlier today...it's really not that because there's hatred and discontent no matter what. It's the SW "new trilogy" effect. TFA suck s because it's too much like Star Wars. TLJ sucks because ifts not enough like Star Wars. It's virtually laughable.
Or some people might actually, genuinely, enjoy the show.
Except Star Trek has always been a much more intelligent Science Fiction than your standard TV crap series and has always been dealing with philosophical, social and moral concepts. But, they are enjoyable and entertaining. That's what they are supposed to be, not deep philosophical musings on the human condition.
It's ridiculous. Nobody knows how to be challenged or to be taken in a different direction any more.
