Huh? Now I'm really confused. I don't remember seeing this design on the show and I thought this was the Bird-of-Prey from Discovery.DSC Issue 03 preview, including first look at cover image:

Ah, okay. Now I see it, too. I thought we were seeing the front in both images.Looks like the same ship to me. Just from behind.
Is there a lot of detail and unused designs to be found in the mag?Discovery was modeled on the XB-70A. It's one of my favorite aircraft.
Quite correct. What nobody could figure out, was why John DeLorean said he was trying to compete with the Porsche 911 of the day. He certainly was with the price, but not with the performance. The horsepower-to-dollar ratio was way out of parity.Yeah, from what I read somewhere, the DeLorean was meant to be a car from cruising, not speed.
OH yes! I tried removing them at one point for a proper break-down and clean up, but I ran into several problems. One was a circuit ribbon, not unlike what you would find in a modern-day PC connecting hard drives to the motherboard. It didn't appear to have a visible quick-disconnect exposed between the frame and door. The other thing was the titanium torsion bar that provided spring-tension to the door, along with a hydraulic piston that you would find on any hatchback door. You needed both to keep the doors aloft or they would sag shut. That torsion bar was held in the front end with a keyed slot and secured on the back end by two bolts and a flange. The problem with it was that it was under so much tension that when I undid the first bolt the first time, the flange it was attached to tried to uncoil and snap down into the rear glass, which was right there! Once I figured out what was involved, I had a 3/8" drive waiting to hold it in place while I undid both bolts to prevent glass damage. Ideally, it's a two-person job - one to hold the bar in place and the other to undo and remove the flange to allow the bar to be uncoiled slowly. A superlative pain in the ass, that one! I eventually just gave up on the doors and kept them in place. They were just too cumbersome to deal with. Here's a screencap of what I'm talking about. Real design flaw - one of many:Those gullwing doors seem like something that would be a pain in the ass to deal with. Were they?
Yeah the dude clearly had more money than good sense. "A fool and his cash are easily parted", and all that. He struck me as someone who had money to burn based on the ease at which the transaction was handled. Who am I to argue? I was just glad I unloaded the thing before it caused me more problems.Buying a classic car that an inexperienced teen driver can smash up, and possibly get a girl pregnant? Sounds nice.![]()
Well, there are auto-transmissions like mine was (I can't drive stick eitherIt'd be kind of interesting to drive one and see what it's like, but I can't really drive a stick shift.

Could it not be the same ship with it's wings tucked up? Not unlike how the classic BoP had a 3 wing positions.Huh? Now I'm really confused. I don't remember seeing this design on the show and I thought this was the Bird-of-Prey from Discovery.![]()
Needs more phaser turrets but otherwise looks cool! Can't wait for minefrom the facebook fan group page, the beyond enterprise has a lot of nice, new detail, except the stupid bridge dome is still unpainted:

My Eaglemoss USS Discovery arrived today. I don't think I could be any more pleased. What a unique and graceful design. No, the windows don't all align (as per usual), but it actually gives the effect that some lights in rooms are "on" and some are "off" more so that you get on other models.
Love it....I'd really like to stay and write more, but I need to fly it around the room now.
i keep thinking the beyond enterprise is like the 09/into darkness ship all grown up -- less muscular and aggressive, more stately and lithe. The Beyond looks nice though, can't really explain it but I hate the look of it in the 2009/13 movies, but doesn't look too shabby with the little 2016 modifications
I've not experienced that particular issue - seems to be new - but my other negative experiences are well-documented.so i mentioned last week that i had forgotten to inform eaglemoss that i'd gotten a new credit card number which prevented them from successfully billing me for issue 2 of the discovery collection. i responded to their email immediately, gave them the new number, and was told it would be 1 to 2 days before they pulled the funds. it's been 6.
called them today and they informed me that my account is among several which they are having issues processing payments for -- on their end. the very nice customer service rep told me a mass email had been sent out explaining the problem, but i haven't gotten any such email.
anyone here experienced this problem or received an email?
the rep told me she doesn't know when the issue will be resolved.
with all the issues everyone here has experienced and having experienced a few of my own, i had a feeling my screw up with the payment method would end up being a bigger deal than it would be with any other company. the amount of fuckery with these guys is staggering.
My own damnable collector's OCD demands it, unfortunately. However, when I finally get all the models set up on display, that and all other Disco Klingon ships will sit in the deepest, darkest unlit corner of my shelving unit.Yeah... that Discovery "Klingon" ship.... does anyone seriously actually want that? Fair enough if so, but personally I wouldn't pay £3 for that, never mind £35 odd.
