Who should play Spock and Captain Pike in S2?

Pike: Stephen Dillane. We know he can be great playing a "duty-bound but weary" type of character.
Spock: David Hayter. Just imagine Spock speaking in Snake's voice! A Klingon Bird-of-Prey D, huh?

Didn't someone from the show already state we definatly WON'T see Spock?
Not exactly. David Mack mentions in his Acknowledgements for Desperate Hours that he was requested specifically by Fuller himself to use the Enterprise and Spock in the novel because there were no plans for them in the show, but Fuller's gone now and whatever he had planned no longer matters.
As i said before on the other thread i don't know how this would work but find someone that looks like both of them then find someone who sounds like them and try do a voice over.

It would be pretty hard but it could work, like they would need to get the actor to say the lines then get the person to voice over it and try make sure it matches pretty well.
This is not the appropriate time to be doing anything like that. Very few professional actors would even agree to do something like that, and indeed the few times it's done it's exactly because the person who is brought in for physicality is not a professional actor. Plus, they'd be unnecessarily paying two people for one job. Even on a show with a budget of eight million an episode, saving money is still a priority.

Oh good now we get to do our joke choices!

Pike : William Shatner,Patrick Stewart,Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew,Scott Bakula, and Chris Pine alternate between scenes.

Spock: The kid who played him in that Seth McFarlande fan film he did as a teenager.

Didn't someone from the show already state we definatly WON'T see Spock? I remember reading an interview with I think Alex the other day where he said they felt they couldn't fill both Leonard and Zachary's shoes with a new Spock, and just leave him as mentioned.

I imagine we'll see Burnham and Sarek returning from the Enterprise talking about their meeting with shouty Spock.

As far as Pike, if we do see him, I hope it's an actor they would be capable of bringing back later if we see the character again.

I interpret that as them saying, No New Spock.

I don't see this show not having Pike and Spock in Season 2, especially if the Season 2 premiere is on CBS. The eyeballs it would bring justify the effort.

Matt Bomer would be good casting for Pike.

That is quite hilarious that he said they couldn't fill Zachary Quinto's shoes. Yes, who could possibly do a half-assed Nimoy impression.

I would seriously like to see Bruce Greenwald and Zachary Quinto, just because I thought they both did an awesome job
Too expensive, plus it's alternate timeline. Greenwood, though a good actor, is too old. I think Anson Mount is a good choice for a young Pike. I have no idea who could do Spock, though the actor for the Captain Pike movie seems like a good choice. I hated their choice for Captain Pike though.

I think Tim Daly (Wings, Madame Secretary) looks similar enough to Bruce Greenwood to make him a candidate only if Pike is only briefly seen or is only in an episode or two.

Bruce Greenwood is about 30 years too old for Pike. Matt Bomer is a good suggestion.

I think they will get Quinto to do a special appearance as Spock.

Quinto wouldn't make much sense, since STD has a different Sarek and Amanda.

Personally, I'm a big fan of The Cage cast and I'm hoping none of these characters appear on this show. They'll be ruined on it.

How? Will them appearing overwrite the Cage?

I don't care for how the current team handles characters and character development on STD. Therefore, I don't trust them with legacy characters like Pike and Spock. Haven't been too pleased with how they've handled Sarek either, especially in the last 2 eps.
It may not overwrite The Cage, but I don't care to see poor interpretations of these characters.

Let's be real, Pike and crew can't be the heroes on this show. They'll have to be used to service Burnham and friends. Burnham will probably save them, or (lol) talk them out of committing genocide.
