If You Could go Back in Time...

I'd bring back the original Tri Top syrup. After a 40 years pause they produce it again nowadays but it's not as good as the original used to be. The modern version uses the same amount of artificial sweeteners as the original used of sugar, not taking into consideration that the atificial stuff tastes faaar sweeter than sugar. The "improved" product is simply horrible.
The same goes for Afri Cola - in the 70s it used to be the best cola in the world. Now they revived it and - as was to be expected - it's just a sugary zombie but not the real thing.

Wonder Balls, I loved those.

I wouldn't impact what naturally happened in the world, but more-so to remedy a lot of my own mistakes.

I don't mean the ones that helped me grow as a person that are necessary for development, I mean lost chances I only realized the proper way of dealing with after it was too late, and others just because they shouldn't exist any longer.

You could argue that with this time travel paradox, I would be able to keep my memories of them, just alter the world instead to not. I could live with that. To both give myself a second chance at a lot of things I wanted and failed to and to remedy a bunch of, well, pointless bullshit.

I understand that a handful of franchisees still exist somewhere in the midwest, but I would like to travel back a few decades and get a Rax roast beef sandwich, along with the alligator-shaped plastic drink bottle.

Yes!! This is what I was going to say.
My childhood memory. I remember the roast beef tasting so good (for all I know, they sucked) and I loved the drink bottle...probably BPA plastic too, hahaha.

I'd try to bring back the Gros Michel banana. I wonder what they tasted like, they apparently were much better than the Candevish.

I don't know if I'd bring anything from the past. There was a great deal of infectious/epidemic diseases back then, some of which were no doubt caused by bad food. Anyway, I am not old enough to be missing anything that's no longer manufactured. You have to wonder why those things were retired though.

I always liked the Kinder chocolate but they changed the recipe over the decades. The modern version is far sweeter than the original was, back in the 60s (those were the days! My granddad was a sweets wholesaler . LOL no wonder I'm a diabetic! :D)

There's a little sweets shop in my neighbourhood where they have all the lovely old fashioned Sweets granddad used to sell: the tri-coloured coconut cubes, ischoklad, "silk pillows" (hard candy filled with dozens of micrometer thin layers of hazelnut or coffee brittle), striped peppermint balls, mint fudge, malt candy... I usually gain 2 lbs by just gazing through the shop window :D

Reggie Bars....named for NY Yankee great Reggie Jackson

Flutie Flakes....like Frosted Flakes but named for quarterback Doug Flutie

Team Flakes cereal

Gator Gum....it was gum that was flavored like original Gatorade and was the same green color

Nabisco Crown Pilot crackers....they were back for a while, but then gone again

Nabisco Royal Lunch Milk Crackers....original formula, not the tweaked version before their demise

Kellogg's Raisins Rice and Rye cereal

Grape Twizzlers from the late 70s....best Twizzlers ever and much better grape flavor than the newer pull & peel

Fawn Beverages....made in Elmira, NY....best tasting soda pop varieties ever....their cherry was to die for

Sunshine Raisin Biscuits....the original recipe

Anyone remember Sambo's ?.... https://www.thedailybeast.com/panca...he-racist-restaurant-chain-america-once-loved

We also had Carrol's. I loved their burgers, fries, and orange sodas.... https://www.democratandchronicle.co.../01/03/whatever-happened-to-carrols-/4310953/

These are just some that I recall off the top of my head. I may add to the list later.

Candevish? Never heard of that variety. :vulcan: Ah, you were somehow bitten by the dyslexia monster--you mean Cavendish!

I would also go back in time and change it from Cavendish to Candevish so that I don't look like an idiot.
There is an EDIT option (presuming newbies have the ability), but I quoted you... so you'd need my cooperation to effectively rewrite history. But don't... you didn't look like an idiot. It's an easy typo and hey, it inspired more conversation. ;)

When I was young Taco Bell had a thing called the Bell Burger. It was just a sloppy-joe
type thing made with their taco meat and topped with shredded lettuce and diced tomato.
I loved those things!

Also, IHOP used to have Boysenberry syrup that I would put on just about anything.
Can't seem to find it anymore.

:)

I bought them from a Big Lots. They were probably expired or something. I've found expired items on the shelves -- sometimes -- in these discount places.
