Are they reasonably good translations?
Yes.Are they reasonably good translations?
I keep forgetting to check in here.
Haven't watched the first ten as a batch a few weeks ago, I'm enjoying the series even if a lot of the beats are basically from other science fiction things. I'm okay with them doing the Stealing the Enterprise sequence, for example.
I know that people seemed to think the show might be bad because of the staff changes, but it's working out to be pretty good so far. Just another year or so before it finishes. lol
Haha, that's fair. I've never seen the sequel series so I don't really know the beats of this season. With regard to them doing the "Stealing the Enterprise" sequence. You do realize it was a part of the original Comet Empire storyline (circa 1978-79) and that STIII:TSFS came out in 1984. <--- When I saw the Enterprise theft sequence in that film, I'm not kidding when I had the thought in the theater of: "Hey, looks like the story writer watched 'SBY: The Comet Empire' because this scene sure barrows a lot of the same structure and beats."
And two of the friends I was with (who also had seen SBY) thought the same thing coming out of the theater.![]()
Maybe you checked already when you were there but the big electronic stores usually have toy sections where you can find some good Yamato stuff.I went to Japan last June and was hoping to find all sorts of cool Space Battleship Yamato items and didn't hardly find anything. I found a Cosmo Tiger in one model shop and a gaming guide in a book store and I did see Captain Avatar as part of a mural on the side of a bike shop in Tokyo, but other than those few things I didn't see anything else my whole trip and I did tons of shopping.
^^^Haha, that's fair. I've never seen the sequel series so I don't really know the beats of this season.
Was the context of the Yamato scene also stealing the ship because the crew wanted to go on a rogue mission?
