And the Next Cancelled Show is...

If "Timeless" comes back in March isn't it going to be competing against March Madness? Are they trying to kill the show?

Jason
The show is dead. It is only being brought back to wrap up the storylines. It was cancelled last year and only got the reprieve after an outcry from the fanbase.

Umm, what the hell are you talking about?

It's not canceled, it's not dead, it's not wrapping storylines up. Sony wants it to live because they feel it's a good family show, kind of like Doctor Who. If NBC didn't bring it back Sony was going to shop the show around. Only reason it was canceled was because of costs and Sony agreed to help NBC out with that.

Do I think it will get a third season? Nope! But it's not wrapping up anything. They are supposedly introducing new bad guys.

The Winter Olympics, the one where only old people care.
Sorry ?

Winter Olympics are more akin to the X Games in places. It's certainly more interesting than traditional athletics and sports. Admittedly the skating is pensioner friendly and cross country skiing's dull, but...

I definitely like the Winter Olympics a lot more than the summer games. Of course, I’m Canadian, so....

I'm curious. Is "Better Things" a safe bet to return? I know Louie C.K help create the show with Pamela Addon so I don't know if that hurts the show or not or even if it gets good ratings.

The show was renewed for a third season back in the fall, before the Louie CK shit hit the fan. As of right now the show is moving forward without him and some production companies got fired and some behind the scenes junk is happening. As of right now season 3 is still a go, but I wouldn't count on it until it's filmed.

Man, TNT sucks ass. First they cancel Major Crimes, now The Librarians and The Last Ship may be ending after the upcoming season. Once The Last Ship is over I won't have any shows I like watching on it.

That's a shame. It was neat little show. A bit overacted at times, but the literary and esoteric references scattered throughout made it uniquely notable. I hope they find a new home for it but sadly I think it's done. Maybe they can go back to doing TV movies or short run miniseries. That may be a more practical future for the franchise.

I thought The Last Ship was definitely ending after the upcoming season? Wasn't that announced before they aired last season?

I don't watch the show but the creators aren't stupid, they know TNT won't have scripted shows in 3-5 years. They came out and said that they will wrap up storylines but that it obviously can continue on for many more seasons. The normal 'We know we are canceled, but we won't say it until TNT does'.
