Were you satisfied with the USS Enterprise revealed in DSC's season finale?

I thought it was a great modern update on the classic design. A little bit of the refit in the neck but still the classic looking nacelles. Best part of the episode for me!

I'm not a fan. I think it looks like a generically updated version of the ship, and isn't consistent with DSC's established Starfleet look, and I can't for the life of me understand why they shortened the neck to make it look all squatty (except maybe as an overreaction the JJPrise moving the engines closer together and making that version look all shruggy).

They probably did it to make it look sturdier.

The Connie is older then the discovery by almost 20 years, so I’m not surprised by the difference

The ship looked fine to me. It's obviously a Connie, and I'm glad to see it. I'm sure there are a few details about it that will lack consistency with the thousands upon billions of other versions we've seen, but I'm good with it. I say that before I've seen the interior though.

Enterprise was built in 2245 so she would be about 13 in this episode and to be fair we don't really know how old the Crossfield class is just that Discovery was pretty new.

I said the Connie, not the enterprise. We don’t know how long it takes to build one, but I’d assume the USS constitution is Older then the enterprise

Fine with the Enterprise design. It's appearance just wasn't earned on this series.

Problem is.... it just came across as cheap and desperate fan-service, to get ST fans on board with this series and to try and legitimize the series. The execution of it all was really corny.

CBS and the producers of the show will certainly be throwing a party if these cheap tactics work.
