New Andorians

ENT tellarite have 5 fingers

That's one of those things where traditionally the excuse has been variations in the races. Similar to the Andorians, where there's so many variations of antennas and what not over the shows and films (the most drastic prior to this probably being the TNG ones, which were god awful, imho). I'm sure this one will be planted in that same category. On the Tellarites, I feel like there is some kind of neurosis going on where it just could not be left well enough alone over the years. They're space pigs. That's a fun and charming idea. Just let them be space pigs. That was my problem with ENT Tellarites. They look more like a shaved dog, they were made more vague just to not be as much space pigs, and that move takes away their character. Let 'em be pigs. Make it prettier, spruce it up, but don't fix what ain't broke.

They ate Georgiou. Pretty sure Humans and Klingons while not the same species are close enough as sentient beings for it to be cannibalism of some sort. Don't Humans, Klingons, Romulans and Cardassians share the same genetic markers according to TNG?
On Deep Space Nine, Kor brags about eating the hearts of his enemies. Also, Worf was afraid that Jadzia would not make it into Sto-Vo-Kor because she had never feasted on the heart of an enemy. There's precedence.

Wonder what the new Andorian would look like with white bushy eyebrows. Does anyone still have MS Paint on their computer? Mine vanished.

No, it is not what they are. Just as klingons are not guys with bad fake mustaches and brown face.

...with a long time between that and the bumpy heads, and an explanation already in the expanded universe (which was regarded with canonocity until Roddenberry redefined canon when TNG launched) for that. That explanation being the fusions. And a vague explanation after the fact in DS9 recognizing Klingons as existing as that in Kirk's time, and a complete canon explanation in ENT. Aliens changing faces drastically, as the Klingons did, was regarded as a thing within the canon itself. Vaguely changing is not so much a thing for major discussion, as other aliens, Andorians and Tellarites included, have been somewhat different looking from era to era.

And TOS Klingons are cool. *Deal With It Glasses*

I'm still surprised how people were totally fine when Romulans grew that ugly forhead bumps without reason, but demanded explanation for why Klingons looked different.

The alien redesings in DISCO look fine. Andorians still look like blue people with antennae and white wigs, Tellarites still look like anthropomorphic pigs, just fiercer, Klingons still look like an alien warrior race with head bumps, Vulcans , well, they are identical. No drastic changes, as far as I can see. There have been bigger changes to make-up design in Trek's history than any of those

Really? Star Trek fans here and elsewhere have been whinging about all the various "forehead aliens" since 1987. Why the Romulans developed ridges in less than 100 years was right up there.

It's just been a while since we had a new show to reignite that ire.

I want to see a Xindi.

Primate. Arboreal. Reptillian. Insectoid. Aquatic. Whichever. Throw a few into the new series. It's been more than a century since the attack on Earth and relations between humans/the Federation and the Xindi have to have improved at least a little since the classified mission into the Delphic Expanse.
