Years ago there were mainly two ways to play video games: arcade machines and home computers/video game consoles. But now we have games in arcades, on computers/video game consoles, handheld consoles and cell phones/tablets. (And then you have Nintendo’s Switch which blurs the line between video game console and tablet.)

Which method do you prefer?

Personally I prefer playing on a video game console like the WiiU, Switch, PS3 or NES.

PC Gamer all the way. I do occasionally play on tablet but that's just for when I'm not near my pc and the gaming itch strikes.

I do some console gaming but I'm nowhere near up to date on the tech (Wii is the nearest, then PS2) :(

I'm a mainly a console gamer, with the some games on my tablet. I've been a console gamer pretty much all of my life going all the way back to the Sega Genesis. I'm mainly a Sony person, but I did get an original X-Box and a Game Cube back when they came out.

Console and PC gaming should not be combined into a single option. That's like asking someone's political affiliation and making Republican/Democrat one option. And why are your handheld examples from the 80's? Why not just say 3DS/Vita/Switch?

I'm mostly a console/handheld gamer with a strong preference towards Nintendo and other Japanese games. The Switch is my primary system with my PC as a secondary. I also mostly play my Switch in handheld mode, so I guess that means I should vote handheld.

I flip back n forth between Console & PC Gaming. I don't really get on with handhelds as I find many to be fiddly to hold n play with and they give me neck ache from how you hold them and some even hurt my thumbs after a short play.

Console gamer. I still have an Atari 2600, in addition to a Xbox One S, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

I like consoles because if it's a game for your console, then your console can play it. No need to check RAM and hard drive space, or if your graphics card will let you have the maximum settings and all that bother.

I can't really afford to replace my computers very often, so I'm not able to keep up with the tech needed for new PC games. Luckily that's not a concern with console games, and most of the mobile games don't seem to need the top of line devices to be playable.

I also like consoles because you know that your games will still play on them years down the road, unlike computers where your games may not work on new PC’s. a little while ago I tried to load the 2002 Spider-Man film game on my Windows 10 computer. It apparently installed, but it wouldn’t run. So I got out my GameCube version and played that.

PC only, although I may get a console so I can play GTA IV. I'm missing out on so many "Let's go bowling, Niko!" jokes.

They're immortal on Youtube! I try to get some of the experience by listening to GTA IV music while playing GTA V...
I really enjoyed The Beat 102.7 back then

Definitely a console gamer. I still have my NES, Super NES and Genesis along with my PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One S, Switch and Super NES Mini. I also have a Nintendo 64 (which I loaned to my sister). I also made some dumbass decisions in college and traded in my Sega Dreamcast and GameCube to Gamestop for in-store credit, but I'm currently in the process of reacquiring the systems and games I used to have.
