Well, hello! I'm Dilandu, actually - Alexey Shirokolava (Shiro for short), from Russia, 28 years old. Doctor of Agricutural sciences, speciality - triticale (unfortunately, still not quadro- ) New to this forum, but not to the Star Trek itself; started to watch it since early 2000s.

 

Just make sure not to claim everything is a Russian invention and things will go smooth!

 

For what reason should I claim something that is a common knowlege?

You are not alone. I've been watching star trek for 37 years and I love all three reboot films.

 

I'm not a die hard fan who has lived through Trek since the 60s but have seen all of the series at one time or another. My favourite series is Enterprise and I actually think the Abrams movies are a ton of fun.

 

Nope, you've got company. I'm 43 & have been a fan at least since my late teens & have really loved these movies & personally would love to further explore the Kelvin Timeline. I can fully accept this is an alternate universe.

Hello to all! My name is Mark, I live in Wichita, KS. I have been a Star Trek fan since the early 70's. I am almost a year older than Star Trek's premiere in 1966, being born in December 1965. Look forward to many interesting discussions on the forum. I enjoy all the different forms Star Trek has become over the years, but my main interests are the original series, animated series, TOS movies and the Kelvin timeline movies. When I think of all the forms Star Trek has taken, I am reminded of the Vulcan IDIC, infinite diversity infinite combinations. I think the Star Trek universe is big enough for all the various ways ideas have been presented. I enjoy Star Trek because of the optimism it presents for the human species, that someday we can come together and truly be united without worrying about someones skin color, sex, race, religion, etc.

Hello! I'm AJE (just my forum name) and I'm from Anchorage, AK. I'm still pretty new to Star Trek, having only seen the new movies (I was only 12 when Star Trek Enterprise was cancelled, and never really got around to seeing it or any of the other shows). Still, I am attracted to the concept because it's an optimistic future that doesn't view technology as degrading or destructive (looking at you, BSG), and I am kind of a technophile.

Hello To All;
I've recently joined this forum to gain further insight into the many "Worlds of ST". Been a Ardent fan of the Franchise since it's early beginnings (1966) at the age of Ten Years. I admit it Changed MY life in many ways. Still Does. I'm an avid Hobbyist, and have built (still DO), models of the Star Trek ships: TOS, TMP, Voyager, and now collecting and building ships from the "Starfleet Museum". The Models range in size from 1:1000 scale to 1:350 scale, or 4.5 inches to 35 inches.

I know that I am a newbie, so please excuse my naive question. I am really confused and I feel stupid enough as it is, but I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to point out to me exactly what is the Kelvin Universe? How does this differ from the standard regular Star Trek Universe?

Just think back to the blackboard scene in Back to the future 2 and you won't go far wrong.

 

It's also the reason you can of "Real Spock" hehe from the timeline we know and love and "young dude Spock" from the new movies in the same place.

Imagine a meeting of Real Kirk and Young Dude Kirk?
