I was a huge fan of Star Trek: New Frontier, Lost Era / Terok Nor and IKS Gorkon, but I understand these are done with no new novels planned. I am enjoying Star Trek: Department of Temporal Investigations, but I think only 2 novels so far? I have hopes for more Star Trek: Prometheus after the trilogy.

Are there any other TNG era "new crew" series you'd recommend (excluding Titan)?

I think Section 31 had 2-3 novels and there were a few Mirror Universe ones from the last several years, I have those, and they are on my "to read" pile.

P.S. I was a HUGE fan of the post TV final DS9 series that kicked off with Avatar. Is the new Gamma version a new vision for the DS9 stuff? I'm honestly looking for a good jump off point for this series after all the ups and downs of the last 14 years. I just started reading The Missing and have the following on my "to read" pile: Sacraments of Fire, Ascendance, Force and Motion, The Long Mirage and Enigma Tales to go before The Gamma branded book Original Sin. No disrespect intended to the greater writers who are working on DS9.

There's a trilogy of DTI ebooks - The Collectors, Timelock, and Shield of the Gods.
There's also three DS9 ebooks - Lust's Latinum Lost, one who's name I've forgotten, and I, the Constable - by Paula Block and Terry Erdmann. They all focus on Quark, and Quark and Odo in the last one.
It looks like you may have missed some DS9 books that weren't labelled DS9 - Rough Beasts of Empire, Plagues of Night, and Raise the Dawn were Typhon Pact books, and Revelation and Dust was the first book in The Fall miniseries. All are by David R. George.

There have been two Section 31 novels in recent years.

There were also four published in 2001 - one each for TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOT.

I don't read the eBooks. I only have Watching the Clock & Forgotten History. Any change the eBooks will be collected in hardcopy like SCE was?

I think those are eBooks too; so haven't read them. Do you think they'll be collect in hardcopy?

I believe those pre-date The Missing. I'm caught up to The Missing. Was wondering about whether Gamma is a good jumping off point for the DS9 series or whether its more of a USS Robinson book and worth a look.

Thanks I have them all. I read the 2001 ones back in the day. Have the 2 recent DS9 S31s on my "to read" pile. Any more Section 31 novels planned? Did the last 2 sell well?

Another eBook. :( Not my radar sadly. I'm old school in how I read my novels; paperback, trade paperback or hardcover.

Is the expectation that David Mack has stewardship of the TNG era Section 31 series?

He’s written the last couple but since he’s concentrating on his original series anything is possible going forward.

^The first one is called The Midnight Front, here's the description for David's website:
Each book will take place in a different era, moving forward with each book. I think one of them is a Cold War era story, but I'm not sure, and I can't remember what the other will be.
They've also set up a website for TMF, which includes descriptions of the characters, and the magic system.

There is the Stargazer series by Michael Jan Friedman. There have been no new novels in the line for 10 years now, and the series takes place before “Encounter At Farpoint” with a young Picard on the Stargazer. The first novel-final story of the crew is the TNG Hardcover “Reunion”. It was the first Stargazer novel published, but it’s also a reunion novel.

Thx! I forgot about that series. I have some or all of them. I recall one or two hardcovers at the time.

The Valiant, another TNG branded story, was first issued in Hard Cover in 2000; it was later issued in paperback, as well as retroactively being designated as book 1 in the series. The original 1, Gauntlet and 2 Progenitor were first printed in paperback, and then combined into a single Hard Cover by the Science Fiction Book Club. All the other Stargazer stories were issued in paperback. The series also crossed over into the Double Helix mini-series.

Reunion and The Valiant were also combined in the Signature Edition TPB Pantheon.
