I like the script - it's economical, moves the (TOS non-) action along, captures the tone of the show and is slyly humorous. I've watched a lot worse, and these guys were 15. It reminds me slightly of the first Exeter - the effects are all improvised and practical. It's done in an early home video, pre-computer effects era.
This is canon, right? And I know the Simpsons is the one for predictions not FG but the uniforms and badges are more Kelvin timeline!!

LOL, they've got the nacelles attached incorrectly on their model. Some fans! And I see McFarlane's acting hasn't improved much since this.
I think the nacelles are simply dropping...you can see a gap at the middle top where the two "strongback" halves are separating behind the connecting dorsal.
