Disney did not buy the Fox Network, Fox News, or Fox Sports.
    Deal will take 12-18 months.
One article I read said Disney paid 52.4 billion (TVline.com), another 54.5, and another 66 billion(deadline.com). So we need to wait on that.

    Some questions answered...
    That's from TVline.com

    My guesses...
Modern Family will live on long after season 10 (Because now Disney will own the syndication rights)
Avatar will become a Star Wars spinoff. Or canceled. (Somewhat joking)

    Fun article about the merger.

There's a large thread talking about this over at the Science-Fiction and Fantasy forum.

Sounds more like a merger, than a buy out.

Yup. People are already dreading a PG13-rated Deadpool.

Does this mean the 20th Century Fox logo will be in front of the next Star Wars movie?

How so? Disney isn't merging with Fox, they are buying off the rights of 20th Century Fox. I'm not sure how this is like a merger.

That's a weird spot for it but ok.

The thread has been there for at least week because of the rumors and how it will impact the MCU, but the conversation isn't just about the MCU.

Disney has an Avatar land at Animal Kingdom. They have an interest in it doing well now. Expect one a year until Cameron goes mad.

And that means... Disney now has control of all Star Wars. Guys... they may release the OT as it once was...

Kathleen Kennedy continues to insist that isn't happening, and it's known that the 4K remaster of the original movie that Gareth Edwards was shown at ILM was the cut that's currently on the Blu-rays.

I wonder if Disney will keep Batman 66, or if the will sell all the show outright to Warner Brothers?
