Gurning as in face twisting or pulling some weird type of jawish faces is the best I could put! His jawline is very large to say the least!

The Season 2 opener of 12 O'Clock High ("The Loneliest Place in the World," September 13, 1965) has Robert Lansing's General Savage getting killed off during a mission in the teaser without making an on-camera appearance. A lieutenant colonel played by Paul Carr is one of the contenders for Savage's job...

...but the opening credits have other ideas.

Future Discount Klingon and Mod Mentor Tige Andrews on 12 O'Clock High as a maintenance chief who's taking heat from Col. Gallagher because of the work of Nazi saboteurs ("R/X for a Sick Bird," Sept. 20, 1965):

Do you pronounce his name Tiger? Or Tie? Or Tyguh?

Good question. I've always read it as Tij with a long i. Though something tells me it's Teej.

You asked this same question three years ago. The answer's the same now -- his given name was actually Tiger, so presumably it's pronounced like "Tiger" without the "er" (in IPA, taɪɡ).

Ah, so I was closer the first time...just switch to a hard "g" sound.

As it happens, the way Tige Andrews's name is pronounced is the same way I always assumed it was pronounced, even without putting much thought into it. I guess I just unconsciously associated it with "Tiger."

I still have no idea how to pronounce "Galyn Görg," though. I found out a few years ago that her surname is pronounced like "George," but I don't know if her first name sounds like "Gay-lynn" or "Gallon" or "Galeen" or what.

What the hell, Christopher. Do you keep files on us or something? That's kind of creepy.

No, Google keeps files on everybody. When I Googled "Tige Andrews pronounced," that thread was the fifth hit.

Watched a Get Smart last night featuring the lovely Antoinette Bower. She played Valerie, a KOAS agent bringing a secret formula into the country via talking baby dolls. The title was "Valerie of the Dolls."
I think I may have already screen grabbed this one further back in the thread, and I'm too lazy to do it again. :D
