I remember when this episode first aired I absolutely hated it. It was dumb and what the heck were the ferangi doing on Enterprise.

Upon rewatching it (and I did tonight) I’m actually finding things I like about this episode. The fact there are only 273 rules of acquisition, meaning that between this and DS9, the book will be revised for 12 more rules. We also got to see the whips make a return and there was a sense of fun to the episode. I still think it’s dumb but In terms of the three episodes I watched tonight (along with Rogue Planet and Oasis), this was probably the best one. DS9 did it’s job well trying to get people to like the Farengi again.

People love to hate this ep, but I thought it had some fun moments, such as:
    1) Jeffrey Combs. No more need be said.
    2) Trip in his blues (see the Trip appreciation thread for copious drooling over that)
    3) the Ferengi flummoxed by Porthos
    4) T'Pol dangling the key in front of handcuffed Archer
    5) did I mention Jeff Combs?

It was just plain bliss to observe the four Ferengi go through a big portion of the episode speaking a nonsense language, and convey the story through their gestures, grimaces, grunts and poses. I wouldn't have thought this even possible through all that makeup and the false teeth...

I've never understood why people hate it so much. It was obviously played for laughs, and I get the feeling that the cast really enjoyed it. And the Ferengi were really a joy to watch.

OK, I'm always going to have the pet peeve that in a major security breach, the last person they call on is the Head of Security, but well, this is Trek....!

I’m finding in many shows I watch that security is not one of the more Stronger suits. In fact, why do these shows even employ a head of security.

I like this episode when I first saw it when Trip&T'pol and Archer tricked the Ferengi.I thought here were some really funny scenes with Jeffery combs as the bullied Ferengi. And Archer having the Frengi getting back the stolen merchandise from Enterprise back was fun to watch.

Guess now we know where that Vulcan Love Slave holosuite program came from...

That would be awesome if it came from this episode. This feels more prequel-ish than I though.

I love this episode. It's hilarious, and very much in the vein of "The Magnificent Ferengi.

All of the Ferengi actors do really well, especially the two main Ferengi. And it was fun to see Archer manipulating that guy.

One downside(sorta, not really) is, no matter how hard he tries, the actor who plays Trip will never convince me that he's mad, whether he's putting on a show for Ferengi Pirates, or yelling at Vulcans.

This episode also(like many Ent episodes) has outstanding cinematography and editing.

I like the episode for what it is, but I can't forgive Ferengi being on Enterprise. Why not just make it a species of the week? Or some appropriate species for the era? Making it Ferengi doesn't add anything that really needed to be there.

Anyone else notice the Ferengi ship interior is a stretch of Enterprise-E corridor?

The only good thing about this episode is Trip running around in his underwear, how he should've stayed for the entire episode IMHO.
