I am looking for a champion standing bat'leth trophy for display. Does anyone know where I could find one?

If I can't find a trophy, I will make one. A couple of years ago, I found some plans online, but I couldn't locate them today when I tried a search. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I don't think Bat'leth trophies are available in stores. The whole lack of bat'leth tournaments and all that.

^ You would think with all the bat'leth replicas, that there might be some trophies as well.

Not one on ebay, though it shouldn't be too hard to make one of whatever level you're after.

The main thing would be finding what appears to be a small bowling ball or very large marble to start off with. Something made of resin would be light & easy to work with, while still looking like marble.

Or better yet, program the replicator to make you one.

Yes, user a 3D printer to make a replicator, then replicate the trophy.

Yes, you have to have it made. I have one I paid $80 to have made over 20 years ago by an artist. You need a wood base. Turn it on a lathe to give it some decent appearance, keeping the top wider at 6 inches and the bottom and about 5.5 inches wide . You need a plastic globe made of two halves which you'll glue together but first you need to install a long, threaded bolt into the base, making sure that the nut is on the bottom of the base, that goes up thru the globe and is screwed into the top 'wing', also made of wood. This will hold the trophy together. All three 'wings' are made of wood, glued to the globe with another threaded bolt (on each end) inserted into one wing, passing thru the globe and inserted into the opposite wing. All these bolts requires you drill - carefully - thru the globe and slightly into the wings. You must make absolutely certain that the wings are as close to level as possible tho a slight slant can be considered and remember that one wing curves up and one curves down and make sure you get them on the correct side. Thickness of your wings - top wing on mine is 9/16" and the side wings are 1/4". Also, the side wings will be angled down. Also, the top wing must be vertical and centered on the globe. Within the globe, you will need to mix up an acryllic or similar mixture of whatever colors you like to pour into the globe and let set hard. You will need a pour hole at the base of the globe. You then need to find some large-type Klingon lettering or draw them and figure out what it is you want to say - in Klingon - and then cut those letters out and glue them to the wings - all three wings or four faces. You can finish up with a thicker cloth shoelace from like a hiking boot to tie around the top wing with two short tassels, no beads. The wood wings can be painted whatever color strikes you. I had the globe done in black acryllic w silver streaks and the wood wings and base painted silver. Have had it autographed by Michael Dorn and Victor Lunden (who played one of the first Klingons seen in TOS). I display it proudly in my home along with my other Star Trek memorabilia from my costuming days.

As I said in the other thread, please try to avoid posting in ancient threads. Having said that, the description of your Klingon trophy sounds wicked. Do you have photos of it? This is the Art forum, so of course we'd love to actually see that kind of stuff. ;)

I'm on the fence whether to close this old thread as well, because your post is more of a substantial contribution. Still, the folks originally discussing this are mostly not around anymore. So again, pictures would make this even more substantial. :)

Michael, I don't have enough clearance to have picture access. Also, when I select the 'image' icon, it asks for URL. I have images, not a URL. I also guess I don't even know what that means. I have five images I can upload when you let me know how to do that.

Sure, no problem, I'll try to explain. The best way would be to go to an image hosting site (like imgur.com) and drag your images into it. Once your images are uploaded you'll get the option to copy a share link to your clipboard. Choose the link for BBCode/forums and paste it into your post here (CTRL+V).

I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. I'm looking forward to your pictures. :)

Michael, I tried registering with Imgur but it doesn't work. Wouldn't accept my registration. Unless it takes a day or two to finalize it, I am stuck.

Michael, without waiting to see if Imgur accepted my registration, I copied the 5 images to Imgur but I don't understand your instructions on how to get them to Trek BBS. Do I click on 'share to community' or click on 'copy' or what? Clicking on the first only returns me to the 'sign-in' page which doesn't work. Clicking on 'copy' does nothing. No doubt because I'm not registered with Imgur.... yet. Have you got another method for uploading pics?

Michael, well, I finally got Imgur to accept me but the site changed my user name without my permission but I'll use what they chose for now until I figure out how to change it again or I figure out a way to contact Imgur to complain. In the meantime, I've uploaded some pics to Imgur but apparently I'm too stupid to figure this out. Neither your directions nor Imgur explain what to do next in a way I can understand. There is no 'copy' or 'share' link that I can see.

@keel, sorry if I caused any confusion. Actually you don't really have to sign up to imgur.com to use the service. They let you use their services without having to create an account. (However, it's essential should you wish to organize your uploads later on).

I'll try something different and put the necessary steps into a short video. If you follow these instructions you should be able to post your images in no time …

Michael, this is NOT working. My screen at Imgur does not look anything like what you depict nor does that 'copy' button show up anywhere. I upload one or more images and when they appear, I get a page that has the following buttons - 'Add Images', 'Add to album', 'auto resize', delete images, select images for deletion, descending, time uploaded and all images. It DOES have the pull-down menu for 'new post' but that is it. There are no red, orange, blue buttons nor is there a menu where you clicked on your image.

    Cool stuff! :techman:

One thing though, please avoid posting multiple times in succession and try to combine your posts into one the next time. It's bad form on this board to post more than two times in a row.

Actually you can upload multiple images at the same time with imgur. And I can't imagine how they could make it easier, truth be told. You simply drag all images to the upload window and they get uploaded. Maybe you should try tinypic.com, flickr.com, postimage.org or deviantart.com — one of those might be perfect for you. :)

Michael, I figured it out. There were at least four steps that had to be included that weren't in your video. You can't upload more than one pic at a time either. Imgur is a pain in the asss if you ask me.
