I have no idea if there is already a similar thread, so I apologize if that counts as a double-post.
Anyway, I always thought the "You know you...when..." lists were much fun to do ! So let's all add something to the list !

You know you *really* love TNG when...
You think Tasha could be a pretty nice name for your daughter.
    You'd rather wear a mustard-yellow Starfleet uniform than a tuxedo !
There is no such a thing as too many Data episodes.

    Your turn now ^^

You give up Coke Classic for tea, Earl Grey, hot.

You have an excuse to introduce your friends to British historical drama ("Wanna see Patrick Stewart with hair, and wearing a Roman miniskirt? I've got the whole series of "I, Claudius" on tape and he's in several episodes!").

    You know you love TNG...

When you've actually tried the Worf goatee
When you have to pronounce data [dat-ah] instead of [dey-tah] because the latter is a person's name
When you add "Troi" to your autocorrect dictionary, so it'll stop switching it to Trio
When you watch Star Trek TMP & consider its title theme "The TNG music"

When your favorite episodes are Shades of Grey and Sub Rosa
When you ask your wife for "good lobe"
When you consult with Joe Piscopo as to what funny means
When you are watching some random TV show and you see an actor who was on an episode of TNG, and you remember their TNG episode name.

I used to... then I had to severely downsize from a 2-storey house to a 1-bedroom apartment and had to sacrifice a lot of stuff that took up a lot of room. I figured that I might replace them with DVDs some day. "Some day" hasn't happened yet, because when all is said and done, my books take precedence and I opted to replace my Classic Doctor Who tapes instead. Those episodes aren't as easily available anymore.

But when I did have my TNG tapes, I'd host viewing parties for the local Star Trek club. I think I've probably seen "Skin of Evil" more than any other episode, because for some reason that's the one most often requested.

    • When you own the entire DVD or Blu-ray collection of TNG, but you can't help catching episode broadcasts on TV channels (like H&I) or viewing them on Netflix.
    • When you can't go a day without checking the TNG sub forum on TBBS.
    • When you keep pestering the mods to add a Data or Picard emoji! :klingon:

I had the self recorded VHS tapes back before streaming came along and made them pointless.

I went to Star Trek themed Geeks Who Drink trivia with three people who had barely seen the show and my team came in 4th out of 28.

As well as Laserdisc episodes! - and bought a laserdisc reference player just to view them. (I did, I am proud, and embarrassed to say.) There was a big lapse of time between laserdisc episodes post VHS, and DVD availability, so it was the only way to get better than VHS resolution for some time.)

    • When basically, after every uttered line, you know the next line - EXACTLY.
    • When you believe that TV was invented so that we could view TNG episodes.

When you'd much rather hear Patrick Stewart speak than any other news person or politician.
In this clip, Patrick relays a wonderful little story of his encounter with an unpleasant air traveler.

When you can't stop smiling when you are browsing your computer files and you see the "D:/DATA" partition ^^

When your laptop's wallpaper is a screenshot from one of your favourite episode.

When you regularly send Worf memes to your friends :klingon:

I recorded all of the episodes on VHS and then had to throw them away when VHS went out, and so I now own the complete TNG series on DVD.

When you mimic Data (I did as a teenager, which is when I started to watch the series).

Lots of luck with that. I asked T'Bonz about adding a tribble, and gave her one. She said she'd ask, but nothing happened. I assume that nobody on the tech end is too interested in adding any Trek-themed smileys.

That might the problem, you gave someone a tribble.

Virtual ones reproduce via copy+paste, and I think she's probably too smart to do that.
