Excellent, the future never looked brighter.
Or that one episode of old BSG.Can't wait for the inevitable cries from Trek fans about The Orville ripping off "Disaster"!
Excellent news! The show has been renewed for a second season.
Fire in Space. Yeah, I hope the science is handled a little more accurately in this go-around. I truly love TOS BSG, but the writers of that show really had no clue how to work proper science into the scripts. One of the worst was when they kept confusing star systems with galaxies.Or that one episode of old BSG.
How the frick do you confuse those? When I watched BSG I was only 9 or 10 and even I knew the difference!Fire in Space. Yeah, I hope the science is handled a little more accurately in this go-around. Yeah I'm not really sure. The only thing I can think of was that most of the dialog was written by Larson, who was under great pressure to film episodes that were, at the time, the most expensive to produce in TV history. He had a great imagination but zero scientific background and used no editorial oversight prior to filming.
Yes. And, to be fair, had BSG seen a second season (according to the BSG FAQ), there was talk that Larson had gotten Isaac Azimov to agree to come on to the show as a scientific consultant. There was some involvement by Azimov in the failed Galactica: 1980 show, but very limited. A standard 2nd season of the original would have seen much more of him but, alas, was never meant to be.Didn't some of the other 1970's sci-fi shows have some actual sci-fi writers as (at least) consultants, if not story writers?
Bortas and Alara were there in the premiere episode, but they now sit at the stations to Mercer's left. We have seen the doctor standing back there at least once. But yeah, they're mostly unoccupied. Probably so they don't have to have "Random Communications Officer" to fill in the spots.I've noticed that no one really stands at those aft consoles anymore. One wonders why...
