I would rather not have everything need to tie in to the MCU. In my opinion, this gigantic cinematic universe is becoming the centipede with too many feet and Marvel will start tripping over itself.Because they keep getting the FF wrong, and I'd like to see other X-Men characters get their dues that the movies keep failing at.
I prefer the days were some films could just stand alone on their own, and not have to tie in. If they flopped, then the studio could reboot it in a way without so much as an acknowledgement of the old film.
Now, everything, flops and all, must be planned out, charted and accounted, with details showing up in future films. A quick example is the fact that Joss Whedon had to fix problems with Captain America and Thor by resolving the Tesseract and Rainbow Bridge plot points that were left hanging at the end of those films.
Sorry, large, movie spanning franchises do not have to encompass every single superhero under a brand's banner.
Not even a little bit. There's a reason I still have a VHS player. I would absolutely love to have the original versions released on even a basic DVD combo, with SE options as well. It was Lucas' prerogative, since he felt the OT was "Unfinished" in his view, to not release them. I have no problems with all the other editions that he felt needed to be done. Then I hope the deal never happens. For me 'Despecialised' Star Wars OT =. At least for me. After you've tried the special editions you never want to go back.
I just wouldn't mind having all them available.
