WB's Justice League 2017 movie pre-discussion thread

Well, trailers don't look good, and just playing the odds with DC films I'm not optimistic,

HOPEFUL yes, very very hopeful, but not optimistic.

This is a reason? I've seen plenty of bad trailers for movies that I ended up enjoying very much. And I've seen great trailers that featured movies that ended up disappointing me.

Posters have been awful, trailers have been awful, all the rumors have been awful. Any reason to believe that this isn't a where there is smoke there is fire situation?

It sounds as if you have determined that this movie will be awful no matter what.

You mean our judgment of one of the chief methods used to promote a film being as one of the reasons one may or may not want to see a film is weird?

To be frank, I didn't really like the sman film, I didn't like bman vs sman, the trailers are weak,

Though I liked their take on batman, the film was... eh.

So yes my perception of the history of DC films, and what I've seen are the trailers are enough to leave me not very optimistic. As always, I remain hopeful.

Why don't you just wait until you see the movie, before making any kind of judgment?

Well this is the type of movie I'll see no matter what, but normally you have to use promotional materials to decide whether you spend money on a movie... That is what the promotional materials are for.

It doesn't matter. If you want to see a movie regardless of the promotional material's quality, you're going to see it.

What? Is it really that difficult for you to contain your judgment before seeing the film? If it is, then I cannot help but wonder if you have decided to make up your based upon flimsy material.

Yet in none of the pictures of Batman released, does he have a beard.

Perhaps the un-mustache Superman CG people got carried away.:p

I feel like I've been seeing footage and trailers and pictures and posters for years. I'm becoming less interested by the day.

Danny Elfman giving a little homage.

I don't think it counts as an homage if you're reusing your own creation. Anyway, I'm still hoping he uses his 1990 Flash theme too, but there's no hint of it in this clip.

The CGI in this film looks pretty bad to me. The shot of Batman jumping down to the roof was very unconvincing. And it looks to me -- not just here, but in every clip I've seen -- like even the organic part of Cyborg's face is a digital construct that doesn't quite clear the Uncanny Valley.
