I'll be very surprised if Patrick Stewart isn't involved with this season in any way. Probably an uncredited cameo like Liam Neeson had a few weeks ago.

Damn it - you know the badges that everyone on Sargus Four wear with the "elevator buttons" on it - the red and green triangles pointing up and down?

I'll bet they're the gadgets that let everyone vote on the fate of someone else - everyone wears one and just "likes" or "dislikes" the person being judged!

Strong start.

Their competence as Krill spies is matched by their intuition as first contact specialists.:D

Okay, this is going in an unexpected direction. Facebook World!

This is a painful episode to watch. Not bad, just painful, both because so much of the humor is based upon ignorance causing embarassing things and because the culture highlighted is so ugly.

Definitely something not done by Trek before, for obvious reasons.

There is a good degree of social commentary here, how a misdeed or error in judgment can stigmatize someone's life through social media.

Very interesting so far, humor this time working much better as well as the few anachronistic references. And.. I just love Alara!

I liked the episode. Made their satire more relevant than expected. This show may work best when it's going for straight up satire.

While as I said I had a hard time watching the beginning portion of the episode because of how uncomfortable it made me, that was probably the best episode of The Orville yet. It used the classic "Trek" format (in this case leaning heavily towards TOS with the whole "parallel Earth" concept) as a contemporary morality tale. I especially loved the little aside near the end when the native girl said nobody ever bothered to check out the veracity of videos and information in the feed. It was actually the funniest joke in the entire show, and it wasn't even set up as a joke!

They missed the obvious solution: as soon as they found out John's fate would be based on votes, Isaac should have directly hacked the vote counter.
