Well, it looks like if fans have their way Season Two will be the Adventures of Culber And Tardi.

Okay, just call it Culber & The Water Bear and you have a 1980s ABC network private detective show.

They're all really good actors. I doubt that the best of them have signed six year contracts.

I don't want anyone of them to die.

But I want Lorca's 'ends justify means' bullshit discredited, and him to take a long and much needed vacation on some nice mental institution (not Tantalus V!)

Next week on Discovery:

MUDD: Ah, I've done worse than kill you, now haven't I, Lorca? Harry Mudd has hurt you, and I'd quite like to go on hurting you. I shall leave you now as you left me... as you left Stuart...

I think I'd also like to see Data kick the crap out of Saru.

Saru is such a whiny bitch little cuck. He's like a wimpy orange 7 foot tall version of Data.

Saru being made to put his teeth on the curb, then Data comes in and BOOM! Curbstomp

This orange oven glove has a better personality than Saru

just the thought of that word makes me cringe, and hurt on the inside, and brings up flashbacks of Edward Norton and Nazi tattoos. I must be squeamish..

I actually bad for Saru. I think Lorca "hired" him just to get Burnham. Maybe Lorca knew him like he knows everyone else, studying his file, looking for that advantage, and used that desire of Saru to be first officer to coax him into his lair. Now that he's filled his role, he has little purpose in the great mission.

He started out as a prissy, and scared puppy. Now he's just a sad puppy :(

Holmes and YoYo
Hardcastle and McCormick
Simon & Simon
Jake and the Fatman
...
I voted "other" because Negan wasn't listed.

My thinking is that he made the "weak" Saru his #1 so he wouldn't have a strong personality beside him to challenge him.

Bingo.

Unlike other shows' Captains, he doesn't have bridge officer meetings. His management style is literally "My ship, my rules." He wants Saru precisely because Saru will follow orders without debating them.

And for me as a viewer. his different management style is actually a little refreshing for a Trek show. In real life, the boss most often is not interested in having decision-making being done by committee. It makes that part a little more relatable to me. Most of us don't have the quandary of a Kirk or Picard -- "whose advice should I follow?", we have a quandary more akin to the crew of Discovery --" what do we do if we really disagree with the bosses' commands?"

I wouldn't call Saru weak, he made the right decisions, some hard, and called out some strong personalities to get that rescue mission done, either way as far as having him as his number 1,

Wouldn't you?

I mean if the captain is a strong personality wrapped up in military thinking, then the best compliment is someone insanely smart, with experience telling strong personalities what the facts are saying. Lorca needs an egghead at number 1.

I picked Tilly, although I think a severe burn from the next food item to come out of the dispenser would suffice.

Because this is Star Trek (presumably), it is likely they will all die at some point only to be brought back by the end of the episode or by the next episode.

Or replaced by a time-displaced duplicate who is immediately accepted by the entire crew, who in turn instantly forget any grief they felt at the death of the 'original'.

At the end of the series, when Captain Lorca attempts to destroy Antos IV, Burnham will have to mutiny again, this time to save an entire civilization. Burnham will end up making the ultimate sacrifice, but will succeed in stopping the madman.

She will be so loved and remembered that the Federation will create a new holiday in her honor.

If I absolutely HAD to choose someone from the OPs list, it would be the Admiral. But I don't really want to pick any of them, and I LIKE Tilly. What the hell is wrong with you people? :P
If we're doing Stamets, he can start to disintegrate in watery goo like the Senator in X-Men 1. Serves him right for injected himself with that Tardi DNA
I thought he injected himself with *shroom* DNA? Can someone clarify?
Other - The Klingons

If someone votes the tardigrade you are a sadistic individual.
These were my thoughts, except I limited "Klingons" to Kol - so far, I actually find Voq and L'Rell to be sympathetic characters, and I just want the war to end.
Ummmm.... Great minds think alike? :)
You realize this works for mediocre or poor minds, too, right? (Not picking on you specifically, just putting something that occurs to me every time I hear that phrase out there. ;) )
