Star Trek Voyager Desktop Wallpapers

Excellent wallpaper of Seven! I love that center pic of her... she looks pensive to me.
:techman:
Thanks, Mouse ... :luvlove: That picture in the middle (as well as the one on the left) comes from the scene in which she offers to have sex with Harry, which he turns down ... :brickwall::brickwall::brickwall:
Well I don't want to be too harsh on Harry or anything ... and I'm not straight after all ... But had Tommyboy offered it to me, I would sure as hell have jumped at the opportunity.
But then I'm not Harry ... or Tommy either who rejected B'Elanna in BLOOD FEVER. I envy these guys' self-discipline ... don't tell me all hetero men are like that because I won't believe it ...

The Doctor or the Canada Dry's effect! -> He wants & tries so much/hard to look like a human being, adopting all the attributes (good and bad) of this specie, which he condemns everytime the behavior by the way, that he could almost convince me that he is one of them/us but alas, he is NOT and any short circuit in the matrice of his holoprogam, any intentionally or accidentally switch off of all generators equipping the Voyager or a planned obsolescence of his program (there is no escape from this!), will bring him quickly to a painfull reality, him and his friends/supporters. But meanwhile, he would have managed to put a holy mess, our good Doctor Joe! (for my part, I would named him Jerry - like Jerry Lewis-, the
wacky doctor!)

So ... you don't like the Doctor too much? I'm quite fond of him ... but then who aren't I quite fond of on VOY? :luvlove: Occasionally the Doctor can be irritating with his ingratitude to the crew but other than that I really like him. After all, he is a much more believable character for me than Julian Bashir, who has "Peter Pan syndrome", not to mention that Crusher woman, whose only function is to say "Jean-Luc" in a faltering voice. Also, as far as acting is concerned, I think that Crusher is really bad, Bashir a bit better but still not the real thing whereas Picardo is excellent even though I find that his facial expression is occasionally exaggerated.
So yeah, I'm afraid that in any respect our Holodoctor is the best doc in Starfleet, at least in the 24th century (I really don't know the two other shows although Phlox didn't seem that bad).
What do you think of this wallpaper? I like it a lot! :techman:
Again, just like with that winter wallpaper, Voyager could have been integrated into the picture. I don't know why that is so difficult. You add Layer Mask to the top layer (Voy in this case) and if it doesn't work, you can reverse the Sequence of Layers and add a mask to the bottom one. If it still doesn't work, use Hue/Saturation/Brighness to adjust colour and find the appropriate top and bottom layer colour where the mask works. Then blend them into each other, change Brightness and Contrast if necessary and your integrated wallpaper is ready. I admit you have to mess around with it a little but isn't that what image manipulation is about? I mean when I make a wallpaper, it's not like it is ready in five minutes. You try out this and you try out that and see what works. Occasionally nothing works then I usually abandon the project altogether and start a fresh one on a different day.

Having said that, the wallpaper is not bad. As for the Janeway one, demoting her to Commander is a grave mistake ... She looks pensive in that picture, which she often is so that's good. However, I find there's a menacing quality about that pic and I don't think there's anything menacing about our Captain.

Finally someone who appreciates the Doctor's genius.
Well ... I guess you've read my comments re the Doc above. I like everyone on VOY so of course I appreciate him. Not as much as Tommyboy and certainly not as much as Janeway but I quite like him. This wallpaper was made because he plays a major role in that episode and I usually like to give the character(s) in focus a separate wallpaper.
Mind you, I often like to make a separate wallpaper for a character who does not figure that heavily on the ep ...
There will be a lot more FLESH AND BLOOD pictures in the (near and distant) future, my fav being a Tom-B'Elanna one.
And have a look at today's wallpaper. Surprise, surprise ... our Doctor also figures in that one! :D

This is not a question of being fond of him or not. I just regret what the Doctor became through the seasons : an ‎antipathetic character (arrogant, ‎megalomaniac, ‎authoritarian, ‎preachy, patronising, too curious, control freak, self-serving/self-feeling, to the point of becaming unbearable, unmanageable and dangerous), hidden behind the face of a ‎friendly persona with his jokes and clowning. Seriously, how many times has the doctor endangered the vessel consciously or unconsciously? Too often for a ship's doctor, which the program was activated urgently to address the death of medical officer and which the main missions were to care and heal the crew, if you want my ‎opinion!
But most importantly, my representation of a ship's doctor is more classic, in the image of Dr Leonard McCoy, Dr Beverly Crusher or lately, Dr Hugh Culber. So, basically, human - though I’m not opposed to alien physicians like Dr Phlox -, vibrant and caring when necessary, very capable, able to be funny & sarcastic & grouchy OCCASIONALLY (when it's all the time like with our Doctor, it becomes boring and even annoying), ‎depending on the circumstances/people, spiritual OCCASIONALLY and ALWAYS focused on their main missions: care for those in need and seek to upgrade their technicals, whatever medical and/or scientific. So yes, for me , neither Bashir or the Doctor does not appear in my list!

Honestly, the day where I would consider a humanoïd, a hologram as a living being) then I'll be good to be locked in an insane asylum! <grin>

Firstly, I very much want to say that there is a very good chance that she finds in the very near future, her 4th pip in a black box placed on her comfortable seat ... and ‎not far from Janeway's position, our poor Harry complaing again and again not to have found his, containing the 2nd pip of Lt, yet... ! ;-)

Secondly
- "Starfleet captains don't choose their missions, the missions choose them". (Chakotay -Shattered).
- "I've known fear. It's a very healthy thing, most of the time. You warn us of danger, remind us of our limits, protect us from carelessness. I've learned to trust fear" but "Starfleet captains don't easily succumb... to fear." and finally "You know as well as I do that fear only exists for one purpose: to be conquered." (K. Janeway - The Thaw)

;-)

Oh Thomas Eugene, May I ask a service? Could you make wallpapers on Janeway/Krashyk and Janeway/Jaffen, pleaaase ? :-D

Ha-ha, going by what you write about the Doctor you can hardly say you like him ... :brickwall:
But I'm surprised you like Crusher ... Well, not that surprised really, I guess a lot of people like her. I thought she was God-awful.

As for the wallpapers, Jaffen is definitely not my next project, sorry. I can move up COUNTERPOINT on the "wish list" but not earlier than next year.

Well, again, this is not a question of disliking him (for almost the same shortcomings, I liked Dr Gregory House - alright, maybe not in the beginning, I must admit but, I ended to appreciate the character, especially his fierce loyalty towards his staff and a certain form of empathy towards patients... even if it was often buried deeply but sometimes, there were thunder and lightning, which had shown that he was not so insensitive to his patients and really did his best to save them!
So even if the Doctor is not one of my favorite characters, I readily acknowledge that Robert Picardo, his performer, was a fantastic actor (I would have liked to see the actor doing less to develop the entertainment side!) :-)

But I'm surprised you like Crusher ... Well, not that surprised really, I guess a lot of people like her. I thought she was God-awful.

Well, contrary to Picardo, I admit that Gates McFadden has offered a poor interpretation of Dr Beverly Crusher's role. But the role (= her history & the language and psychology of the character) was very interesting. The last time, I have forgotten to quote Dr Kate Pulaski, seen only in season 2 (quel dommage! :-(, performed by Diana Muldaur, who offered the double avantages to be a great character (maybe, the “female Dr. McCoy.”, able to stand up to Capt Jean-Luc Picard on equal footing. Realist and pragmatic, she is ready to make though calls... like a certain Kathryn Janeway!) and well performed though the producers/writers were not gone very far in its development. :-(
-> if I remember well, we learnt that Dr Pulaski has known a young Enseign Kathryn Janeway, at Starfleet Academy, in Jeri Taylor's Mosaïc. (some fanfictions did indeed working together on varied missions)

I reassure you, I didn't ask an immediate action. Just you keep my request in mind in ‎months or years ahead! :-D

Okay then. Kashyk and Jaffen will both come in later wallpapers (Janeway and Jaffen are my fav - if we discount J/C of course).
Great episode!
Maybe a bit too weird to be an absolute favorite of mine but jennifer's acting is superb and the episode is great.
What did you find weird about it?
I'm kind of looking forward to Thomas Eugene's Halloween wallpaper.. hint hint ;)
Sorry to disappoint, LRRH but I'm afraid I can't fit it with my schedule this year. But I would never have thought of that so that's a good idea for next year. (Nevertheless I'll see what I can do - my schedule changes so often that nothing's impossible.)
Also, for today we have EQUINOX. Isn't that spooky enough? :D
