Lorca has a GORN Skeleton in his mancave!

RobertCardassian

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Has this been talked about yet?

Why does this show have to have all these shitty details (purple Klingons and fungus warp drives) yet all these good details (Sonnequa's character, Gorn cameos, Mudd cameo coming up, good effects). This show is such a mixed bag, though it skew on the side of shitty stuff

It would be cool to see a Borg limb or eye implant show up somewhere in Disco too... with no explanation given or any live Borgs encountered. Just foreshadowing.

He also has a live Tribble, possibly dead baby Horta and that thing on the table is apparently a Cardassian vole.

I await the multi-part episode/season-long arc to explain how there could be a Gorn skeleton there, before Kirk makes first contact with the Gorn in "Arena," assuming that that's in fact a Gorn skeleton in Lorca's man cave.

Yes, because there's no way the space faring Gorn could have colonized other worlds (unsuccessfully and died - leaving unidentified remains (or do you believe the skeleton had a sign that read: "Hi, I'm called a Gorn - Thanks'.)

We (the audience) know is probably a Gorn. All Lorca knows at this point is: It's the skeleton of a dead reptilian alien.

Do we actually even know that? Has there been any dialogue referencing the skeleton? We all KNOW it's supposed to be a Gorn, this is Star Trek so it can't really be anything else, but yeah, does anyone on the ship actually know what that is?

Technically, the earliest Gorn appearance was in the ENT Mirror Universe episode by the way, and not TOS.

That's another universe. Kirk made first contact in the Prime Universe, at least as far as he and we knew at the time.
Actually the Gorn are mentioned in the Prime universe in ENT. An Orion trader mentions to Archer that the the drink they are imbibing came from "The Gorn Hedgemony, but the less said about them the better."

so Starfleet knew about them, and maybe Earth traders knew of their products, specially after 100 years. That doesn't mean that they encountered live specimens.

Thank you for that clarification.
