I don't mind the swearing because everyone knows swearing is cool. I wish it hadn't been used in such a clunky fashion, but I guess I should be gland I have an ALL-ACCESS PASS to the dark, gritty new Star Trek.

$5.99 a month for swearing and endless NCIS? YES PLEASE.

Her completely unearned reconciliation with Saru. So she was right about the tardigrade. So the hell what? She still got his captain killed. Apparently Kelpians cannot hold grudges.

Yeah, I almost wrote that. Even if Burnham was "right" she should obey the chain of command. Hell, right now she's outside the chain of command entirely, and Saru is at liberty to completely ignore her if he so desires.

I doubt people will stop having harsh curse words in the future
The human adventure is just beginning - we'll keep inventing more swears!

Also I am bothered by the fact that Doug Jones is the only person with full prosthetics on the face that's capable of speaking without sounding like a cottonmouth. Even the technologically-oriented female crew member answered one of Saru's orders with something mumbly. C'mon, prosthetics crew - get it together!

Oddly enough, my understanding is the Klingons are already overdubbed, and still sound like mushmouths.

Giles is......RIPPER! Wow. Mind = Blown.

Why would Saru forgive Burnham so quickly, though? Because plot?

HAHA I didn't even think of the ripper connection :guffaw:Well played.

Saru's been hanging on to it for 7 months, I'm glad the showrunners put it to bed and didn't drag it out. Plus, he got a telescope for his troubles.

Or he is a liar.

Lying to predators is fine.

It delays your own transformation into poo.

As Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer once said: 'Forgiveness isn't given because someone deserves it. Forgiveness is given because someone needs it'

Yes! I feel like it wasn't so much of him saying, "I forgive her for what she did," but learning through action from anger, making his own mistakes, and by looking into himself he was instead saying, "I don't have to keep being angry." I think, more than Michael deserving to be forgiven, it was Saru who needed to forgive her for himself and not for her. Good quote, sir!

It's a shame Scotty isn't on the show, otherwise he could be a proper Scot now and call everyone a c*nt.

I imagine Lorca getting called a 'daft wee c*nt' and head butted whenever he tries to get scotty to do something in 3 hours when he needs 10 hours to do the job properly.
