RIP Roy Dotrice

^ I knew they dubbed Harvey Keitel for some reason but didn't know whose voice they used until I read your post. Then it clicked. I enjoyed his roles in Space: 1999 and Babylon 5. Rest in peace Mr. Dotrice.

He was the 'Peace in our Time' Neville Chamberlain type dude in Babylon 5.

Neat considering we was an RAF WW2 Vet.

RIP sir.

Space:1999's Commissioner Simmonds

:( RIP.

I'd probably seen him (or heard him) in a fair few things, but whenever his name is mentioned, it's Babylon 5 that comes to mind.

And Gabriel Byrne's father on the short-lived Madigan Men.

"Oh, pipe down, will ye? We were takin' you to pubs in Dublin when you were six!"
"Ah yes, I forgot, the Irish Head Start program."

Remember when he awoke in that glass box that would take hundreds of years to get back to earth in Space 1999.......scary.

That was a particularly effective story, playing almost like a vintage "Twilight Zone" with the creepy twist ending.

The Commissioner "threatens" his way onto Christopher Lee's ship at gunpoint and rushes them through the "suspension" process. Because of this, he awakens only hours into the flight that will take decades. Realizing this, he thrashes in blind panic within his capsule (now effectively an impending "tomb"). His comlock transmits his pleas of anguish to Moonbase Alpha where the crew can do nothing but listen. The last scene presents Koenig reading the choice "Computer" made as to whom was least essential to the base and thus best suited to return to Earth. It was the Commissioner.
