However, it stretches credulity that an admiral would tell Lorca not to use the jump until the health of the tartigrade could be guaranteed, but then have the exact same admiral contact the Discovery and say nothing about it to Saru at all.

The Admirals didn't know about the Tardigrade's health, they were concerned about the Discovery becoming too conspicuous to the Klingons and only wanted Lorca to use the Spore Drive when they decided it was worth playing their ace. Michael was going to tell Lorca Ripper was sick when she came to the bridge and found out he'd been captured.

Its only been a week since the last episode.

Lorca said it has been 7 weeks since the Battle, last episode was 6 weeks after.

Lorca said it was seven months since the Binary Stars, and in the meeting with the Admirals, said Discovery had been conducting hit-and-run attacks on the Klingons for three weeks, since getting the Spore Drive working last episode.

Whoops wow. How did I manage that.

I think this episode highlighted two very big flaws of the series: a terrible main character, and no real ensemble cast. Burnham is a dud. Boot her off and focus on the crew of the Discovery.

Yeah, they didn't know in particular that the tartigrade was "sick." But they didn't just bring up that it was getting too conspicuous, they specifically said that until they found another one it was just too risky to try and use the jump drive.

She's having a nightmare - what a novel and gripping way to open a TV episode!

The shuttle pilot was an obvious deader. Guess that was supposed to be shocking.

I must admit...it is entirely possible that Tyler is Voq.
I don't know about that. But I was thinking he might be a Klingon.

But I'm still going under the assumption TPTB are just going to ignore the Augment virus stuff. But if they do intend to entwine it into the story somehow, I think having an undercover agent would be a great way to introduce the human-looking Klingons to humans.

I would be a open door to bring in Billingsly, and that would be awesome.

The exterior of the "D7" looks like shite but other than that this was the most traditionally Klingon the Klingons have been since ENT. I'm still not enjoying the new Klingon makeup but I enjoyed their behavior for once.
I like the exterior of the Klingon ships. It probably my favorite part of the new design.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. However, SMG is outacted by several "also starring" actors on the show, and after they have had some development, they make more compelling characters than she does. If I just saw this show and none of the other ones this season, I would have no idea she was the "protagonist" at all.

I loved it, i gave it an 8, nailed the sci-fi, nailed the adventure, really presented another perspective to the sentiments of the little guy via Mudd, the idea that the federation could have something to do with the poop they step into is somewhat thought provoking, a little analogous to our times these days.

This was a great episode, i hope they keep this forward.

And yeah, Ash, i mean i'm bettin that he is voq.

Burnham isn't doing it for me either, her character isn't agreeable with me as either likable or hateable, just annoying. So is Tilly. The rest are growing on me though, even horrid looking silly typical Star Trek alien Saru is beginning to grow on me as a character. Still don't like him yet though, but his scenes are certainly better than earlier episodes.
