How would you rate the DSC Main Theme amongst these original themes?

TOS
TNG
.
.
Honestly, don't care for the rest of them, they're all an equal measure of "Meh" after that. I don't find any of the rest either horrible, or great. (YMMV).

This, pretty much. I like the Discovery titles, but the theme itself is bland. The TOS callbacks don't help -- they just highlight the contrast between the all-out space-age fun and adventure of the original theme and the muddled murkiness of the new material.

The theme is fine until the end, at which point it says HEY LOOK THIS IS STAR TREK!!!! The TOS fanfare is about one thing...the voyages of the Starship Enterprise.

I knew the TNG theme as the TNG theme first, and only saw it in The Motion Picture later. So, I'm not all hot and bothered by it being reused music, because even when I see it in the movie, my mind still questions why it's playing in the wrong century. It's top dog, or close to top dog for me.

And I really, really do appreciate the Enterprise theme (Faith of the Heart) as something different. The gall to do a slow rock song after four series of instrumentals was pretty gutsy (as well as removing Star Trek from the title). Too bad the show was too close to Berman era in spirit, despite the promise of something different in theme and title.

Discovery is a half-measure. It's not as cliche as The Orville (or its spiritual antecedents, DS9 and Voyager), but its not different enough to match the series. Basically, Enterprise had a gutsy theme and title, without a show to match, but Discovery has a gutsy show, without a theme to match.

Maybe it'll grow on me though, it's only been four episodes.

Although I've already slagged it off, I feel a ranking is in order (I'm a trek fan after all). So:

1 Deep Space Nine
2 TNG
3 Voyager
4 TOS
5. ENT
6. DSC

If we're including film only themes, then STFC and the themes of ST09 and Beyond would also rank highly.

It hasn't registered with me yet. Though frankly the only themes that have stuck are TOS, TAS and TMP/TNG.

VOY
Enterprise
DS9
TNG
Star Trek
Discovery

I wish there was more awe and wonder in the Discovery theme. It feels really generic.

Holy shit! I thought with all those uses of "I" in the post, he was clearly implying that he spoke for everyone!
Yeah well the haters mix up objectivity and subjectivity sometimes... ;)
Will never forget someone stating DSC is 'objectively horrible'...

At first I thought it was just ok, but the more I hear it the more I like it

I like the original bit, not a fan of the tacked-on "Trek" bits at the start and end.

The theme's okay. Nothing too special, but something epic and bombastic like Enterprising Young Men would be as out of place in this setting as the tambourine remix of Faith of the Heart during ENT's war season.
