Things you HATED about this show. As much as there are positives about STD there is much CRINGE!

I'm just thrilled we can have debates and discussions like this again. It's been so long! ☺️

Yes, but unfortunately, these circumstances are what we have to deal with and discuss.. and it's not fun..unless only on a superficial aesthetics perspective..(CGI AND Production values).. other then that.. Crapfest of a show.

Mind you, I'm actually glad Star Trek has reached the point where we CAN speculate the bad guys stand for something unlike the Abramsverse where the bad guys stand for bad guys and their purpose is to be punched.

I think it's fantastic. Far outstrips TOS, Enterprise and Voyager, and a lot of TNG and DS9.

I live in Ashland, Ky which is straight in the heart of it. I'm a theist myself. The Klingons are definitely how the locals see Muslims. It's why I'm hoping the Federation allies with some other Klingons against them.

But that's just my opinion. I think Trump would by necessity require a leader of the Federation versus the Klingons.

Hey nice, I am in KY as well, south of you a bit. I am a non christian, lived though the D&D scare and got beat for not being christian, I have a bit of a diff view. I know its how they see Muslims, but its how they are as well, they are just blind to it.

Also, He was not pure trump they just used an idea to build from.

You could be right, I'm just throwing my view on it. Amusingly, D&D and Star Wars helped me become religious--which made my minor persecution for it all the more annoying.

:)

I think I need Some Migraine Medicine..

However, if you truly enjoy the show, then have at it. I am glad someone likes it..

Cause it isn't me nor my friends.. that's for sure..

Now, Where is my Excedrin!!

Dude its a whole other world when evangelical parents and people from their church bust in, hold you down, splash anointing oil on and and preach and speak in tongues while you try to get up. The burning of the books also did not endear me.

That would leave me feeling pretty unhappy with them, yeah.

My sympathies man.

Interestingly, in my church, we are starting to do some D&D style campaigns, using a different system, but similar idea.

So, it's been a fun exercise in expanding horizons.

Thank ya, 16 year old me was terrified. Anyhow, you get a whole other perspective when you are non-christian and folks in south east Kentucky KNOW you're not one.

My wife grew up in a house which can best be described as very similar. It's part of why she became a witch. I get it much easier being a liberal Christian but some of my friends were surprised by my beliefs.

Mind you, I just started a STAR TREK D&D game. It's set in an alternate reality where Q's evil(er) counterpart prevents Kirk from stopping the events of The Undiscovered Country and the Federation has reduced the Klingon Empire to rubble, inciting a century long remnant with their survivors.

The PCs must prove humanity can still become a peaceful force with the more militaristic Federation and Klingons reaching peace or they'll erase both timelines.

Pagan myself, So I understand lol.
I do mostly D&D 5e and some Fate currently. Have you looked at the new Star Trek RPG yet. Sounds like a fun game BTW

Really want to do the Fallout one.

The "Wasteland warfare" one? IF so they are the company that does the current Star Trek RPG. If its not that one, I am unsure which you mean. I know many RPG's but there are hundreds.

I could never decide on what Star Trek RPG to buy so I ended up buying none.

:(

I get ya. I got to play a little of the current system. Pretty solid all in all. The FFG star wars game would do a nice trek with a small bit of reskinning.

Yes, that's the one. Still haven't looked at the system, but I like the miniatures :D

Now after two viewings of both eps.

I hate the very idea that a Klingon leader would fire unprovoked on another ship in a sneak attack. To state that you are sending envoys and to then open fire is downright un Klingon. It's without honor. The klingons stab you in the front, not the back.

Klingon honor has always been an oxymoron. Much like real life religious and political ideals, they're very often observed in the violation as much as the observation. The big thing about Worf is the fact he took Klingon honor at face value when everyone else grew up with the hypocrisies.

Next michael kills the leader and does exactly the opposite of what she went there for. First they play up her Vulcan character then have her act totally in anger? Plus what the hell is the captain doing on a suicide mission when her ship is close to destruction? Couldn't find security officers?

1. She's a terrible Vulcan and it was apparently deeply damaging to raise her that way as Sarek himself says.

2. I'm confused. Captains exist to punch villains and wrestle dinosaurs. Security officers exist to die horribly as a demonstration of the villain's power.
