This intro sequence looks awfully familiar...

It feels more like Star Trek than Renegades did, and that has loads of the Voyager actors in it!

The opening does remind me of Voyager, but I see that as a good thing.

I've seen the first two episodes and really enjoyed them. Robbie McNeill directed the 2nd episode.

I definitely heard some playing around with the TNG theme in there just after the episode title fade away, after 1:01.

In relation to the Voyager comparison, as far as I can tell, Orville is an alternate universe Voyager. It is likely the same length (maybe without the engine loops), and with similar crew complement. It is also science focused and very maneuverable. It even has the side by side commander chairs! None of this is a bad thing, I like seeing those Trek things incorporated.

Since episode #2 I've fell in love with this show, I was ambivalent on episode #1, but the second episode really hits the mark. If it can improve just a tad more I think it will be perfect.

I've read comments that it's very TOS-like, but to me the vibe I've gotten so far is Voyager. But with more, shall we say "contemporary" characters.

Isn't that simply the Voyager opening credits?

The first video (a Facebook video), is of The Orville opening credits. The second video (a YouTube video) is Voyager, I guess for comparison.

It took a second for the Facebook video to load on my phone, so it's possible you missed that there are two videos in the OP.

That's exactly what happened. Thanx

Voyager reference over in Discoveryland! A former USS Shenzhou crewmember showed up the USS Discovery with a proto-Seven of Nine eyepiece. I really like the idea that it's not unique to Seven, but a kind of generic eye replacement thing.

Her new eye is even blue, like Seven's.

How does this fit into the story?

She was either injured in the Battle of the Binary Stars or the six months between it and episode 3.
She's part of the USS Discovery crew when Michael Burnham comes aboard, and gives the angry look seen above because they all blame Burnham for the battle and war with the Klingons.

I'm confused...is the egg discussion part of the opening credits? Because if so I would love it.

My husband and I thought the same thing when we first saw Orville's opening sequence..."This is just like Voyager!!"
