Tilly was reminding me of someone something fierce. It just clicked. We have our new Ezri.

You know I compared Stamitts to a negative Doctor Bashir. I think that comparison might work with Tilly, only just the regular Bashir. Remember Bashir was annoying in the first few episodes too.

It's really interesting to see what kind of personalities different people get annoyed with. I think the rationale behind hating on Tilly is comparable to why I'm hating on Stamets.

God I HATED Data at first, he was horrible! Then he grew to become one of my all time favorites. It happens.

She needs to put on a red shirt and beam down to LV426 as soon as possible.

    Tilly has Predator hair.

So that's a conflict of interest.

The important thing about Tilly's presentation in the episode was that she was a complete professional in a crisis. Calm, firm and decisive.

I'd have been worried about the character if they portrayed her as something of a liability or less capable, but they didn't.

Discovery seems to be making a statement via Tilly's expressed "Special Needs" accommodations. Everyone gets a fair chance to succeed in a meritocracy.

[Pen Pals] Commander William T. Riker:
One of the reasons you've been given command is so you can make a few right decisions, which will lead to a pattern of success and help build self-confidence. If you don't trust your own judgment, you don't belong in the command chair.

We shall see if she ultimately deserves the captains chair. Maybe, if Michael isn't just given a roommate of the week/month/year whose fate is to die, kind of like "Dirty Harry" Callahan's partners.

Teresa Jusino, a contributor for The Mary Sue, wrote an article hypothesizing that Tilly might be on the Autism Spectrum.

I personally don't ascribe to this theory, although as a person who is on the Spectrum, I can certainly see why that conclusion could be drawn.

I don't see her as obviously having autism spectrum disorder, having spent a lot of time with people who do.

That tends to be the default label for anyone who is smart and socially awkward, but that doesn't make it apt. Socially anxious is more consistent with her presentation, and that is quite separate from autism.

If she's a cadet, then Tilly might be a teenager.

    She is a little girl.
