Fun DIS Episodes?

Does anyone think DSC will have any fun or funny episodes like 'Trials and Tribulations,' 'A Fist-Full of Datas,' 'Q'Pid,' 'Take Me Out To The Holosuite?' I know it's too early to tell but the two pilot episodes felt gritty and dark and I'm wondering if this is going to be the show's theme.

I doubt you'll get full-out comedy...but I would guess there will be moments of levity and fun in some episodes.

There were a few in the pilot...not many, but a few.

I'd suspect as the series hits its stride with the main story and setting, you'll see more. That said, it's not a 24 episode season, so there's not a lot of room for stuff that doesn't advance the arc like there was in DS9, for example.

But I would appreciate a light episode now and then to break up the bleakness if that's the direction they are headed.

Boring in the sense that I have absolutely no desire to rewatch it.

The biggest thing that stands out to me as something that could have been done better is the Klingons. If you're going to delve into Klingon society (showing us some depth in an alien society), that's going to require long scenes with nothing but Klingons, which we got, and that's OK. But we all know it's television so give us a damn break with how they talk and just let them speak in fucking English or take the cotton out of their mouths, one of the two.

3x13 "Burnham in the Blind"
Burnham returns from an away mission completely blind. When she recovers, she sees through everybody's clothing. Saru takes up photography.

4x08 "Casual Friday"
In an effort to rejuvenate flagging morale, Burnham initiates Casual Friday. Everyone cosplays except Lorca, who reveals a tragic convention moment from his youth. Saru learns to whistle.

5x05 "Saru Going to Finish That?"
Saru eats all of the things again. Stamets' opera unintentionally offends an alien race.

5x15 "The Big T'Kuvmski"
Vengeful Klingons bring a clone of legendary martyr T'Kuvma to term, but he seeks the crew of the Discovery not for war but for gambling. Special guest stars Chris Obi and John Goodman.

Just give it time. I personally guarantee this future.

These plots interest me more than the actual show.
