I am curious, what is Yaphit's job on the ship? My guess is he's the guy they send into the Jeffries Tubes when needed.
Good question, and honestly, I hope we never know, for sure, during the series run. I don't know why, I just think it would be hilarious if it ends up Yaphit has the most important job on the ship and we never really know until the finale, when he saves everyone from certain destruction.I am curious, what is Yaphit's job on the ship? Only Seth probably knows for sure. That said, he is a HUGE Star Trek nerd, so it's possible. Is Bortus's name supposed to be a pun on the Klingon word for "revenge", bortaS?

Errr. wouldn't that be a Lineweaver tube or somesuch?I am curious, what is Yaphit's job on the ship? My guess is he's the guy they send into the Jeffries Tubes when needed.
Quantum drive. Seriously, folks, get your terminology straight! He's made of gelatinous dilithium. Have we ever seen him while the ship is at warp?
Actually, true story, on Stargate when the humans began building their own starships, they still used the term Jeffries Tubes. The producers explained it "even in universe, the people designing and building these ships are likely Star Trek fans and would use this term anyway." Because of that, I just automatically use the term "Jeffries Tubes" regardless the franchise.Errr. wouldn't that be a Lineweaver tube or somesuch?
Maybe they could lampshade it at some point, with Gordon asking "what the hell do you even do on this ship anyway?" and Yaphit responding "I've been wondering the same thing about you!"Good question, and honestly, I hope we never know, for sure, during the series run. That was Bluto in Popeye but otherwise I think it is a valid reference. At least the Senator part.I dunno, for some reason I think "Brutus," which aside from being the name of a Roman senator was one of the names of the big guy with the deep voice who was Popeye's nemesis.
Kind of like Worf = Wolf.
Well, yes and no. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluto#Bluto_vs._BrutusThat was Bluto in Popeye but otherwise I think it is a valid reference. At least the Senator part.
Well, I was a member of The Orville fan group on Facebook (this one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/421852604874647/?ref=br_rs), and then Alec Peters joined and they made him an Admin there. So jackass is already priming himself for fucking up someone else's fandom now. Ugh.
Nah, I wouldn't do that because it would be unethical since they're not harassing anyone yet.We could all go in there and report the group for harassing us, y'know, with the presence of those 2 guys (moderator is also an Axanar guy).

If the Union continues to insist that the Moclans adhere to their cultural beliefs then all the Moclans have to do is drop out of the Union.
