OK I did favourite disease movies but now scifi. And let's make it hard. What's are your favourite low to mid budget scifi movies?

I'll start

Starman.
Kill Command - ( I just love that they had almost a zero budget and what they did with the FX ) Plus I like the movie.
Queen Of Outer Space - From the 60s but it looks very much like it would have fit with Star Trek
The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension

I'm going to assume low to medium is under $50 million. That said:

The Man From Earth
Serenity
Moon
Europa Report

Dark Star (1974)....$60,000 and still one of my favorite sci-fi movies.
Student Bodies (1981)...???? No website even knows how low the budget was for this one.

I have to get myself a copy of Dark Star. I remember it and laughing a lot. I am not sure how I'd view it now some 20 years later.

Student Bodies, is that a horror thingy?

My favorites are Cube (1997) with a budget of $350,000 and Gattaca (1997) with a budget of $36 million.

I'll throw in Groundhog Day (1993) if fantasy qualifies. It had a budget of $13.6 million.

Terminator ($6.4 million) and Moon ($5 million) also deserve honorable mentions.

12 Monkeys ($29.5 million) was also good, and the original Planet of the Apes was $5.8 million.

Cube is great, they ruined it with sequels though.

Groundhog day is one of my favourite movies.
