Except these aren't JJ Klingons, they are another new design. At least the 4th, and arguably the 7th at this point.

They do look a LOT like the Kelvin universe Klingons though. So do the many other design elements that come straight from the JJ movies.

Shenzhou definitely looks like it came from the same place the Kelvin did- prime universe pre-Narada incursion. I guess this is the "redefined" TOS era we've been told about. The uniforms could even be an evolution of the Kelvin uniforms (which looked like an evolution of the Enterprise uniforms). The whole filming style is obvious JJ Trek looking. Wonder what shuttles look like in Dsc.

I was thinking the 3-D holographic displays were JJ Abrams'ish. How about anyone else?

I don't remember any displays like that in the movies.

I also don't understand why every space scene has to be so busy. It's very "JJ"esque, but also very "hey, look at us, we have a budget now!". Trek always did better when they had to build ships out of plumbing supplies and hobby model kit parts.
