CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

I think if Alec wants to salvage things he should run his new facility selflessly for the fans who have interest, just doing the hard work in the background and using advice not ego or desire for material gain to make business decisions. Take the advice of the day, STFU when you have control, just get things done. Simultaneously, he should take four years or so to get a real writing education. And volunteer in public service a lot, to work on that tendency to puff up rather than listen when confronted with intentions of others being different from his own.

This will let the artistry of others attach to his project by way of him being their host, and he may eventually do the one thing that will actually matter to repair his reputation and be part of the Trek (or general SF) legacy, write great stories.

If he wants to be a top dog producer, good luck with that. He already got people to buy him a Learjet, and then promptly taxied it into a fuel tanker while blaming the fuel and the truck driver. Unlikely to get that chance again. But being a writer, ultimately he still can control whether he succeeds or fails.

- everything about what came before is s**t
- only you can fix it
- you will make Trek great again
- all your critics are sad losers
- women would never choose someone else over you, just look at what your followers say
- there's no such thing as IP, even though 99.9999% of judges say there is
- you are the greatest most capable fan film maker of all time
- you can't ever pass by any comment on social media
- if we have photon torpedos, why can't we use them to solve every problem all the time in fan films
- first, purge all the professionals who might disagree with your managerial decisions
- there are professionals who will pretend they accept it so they can ride your coattails into the action (but they all eventually come to regret it)
- who knew sending patches was so hard

If Alec hasn't figured out after all this last year that 'what would McCoy do' is what he has to do, there really isn't any hope for his goals, no matter what they are.

TampAxanar is funny and all, but I have to wonder at what point does all their satire lapse into an obsession? That's a lot of work they've been doing to create that many doctored posters...
