Great work, always good to see proper Klingons again, though the perspective with the two Enterprise's looks off, the Sovereign looks far took big in comparison to the Constitution.

...as the TOS fans said when "Trials and Tribble-ations" aired. ;)

I wonder if there'll ever be a time when the Discovery Klingons are "proper" Klingons?

Inevitably. Just as there's a generation that was introduced to Trek by TNG and looks back at TOS as a quaint rough draft of the real thing, there will now be a generation for whom Kelvin and/or Discovery are "their" Star Trek.

Hmmm haven't read this one yet. Are both of those classes specifically mentioned in the text or is this artistic license?

The latter, IIRC. They have a runabout (not sure which class), and a station of an hithertho unheard-of class. I'll check.

Edit: just checked. Yellowstone is in the novel! The station is a Helios-class hub. That could be a refit/subclass.

Though the work can't be faulted, it is a hideous runabout.

If anything, I thought Robert Hooke station was already described as being much smaller than the half-of-Jupiter-Station that represented it on the American cover. I'd be thinking something like the Orbital Office/Regula One, possibly without the arms. It felt fairly small even with only a handful of people on-board.

Yeah, the Robert Hooke is definitely different. Compare the top and bottom parts on the Watchtower:
