Maybe they just have a large backlog of other books to get out before this one?

Aye. I bet it's a managerial/an organisational issue rather than technical.

I have the books already but I purchased/pre-ordered the eBooks to get a better look at the maps - without the fault-line across the middle.

I just checked the Google Play page for the travel guide yesterday, and it still had the release date down as tomorrow.

Well, I got on Google Play to see if it came out today, and now it says that it comes out the 29th.

How wonderfully strange and perplexing. It must be mighty annoying.

This was a fun read, much like the Vulcan book. I was laughing at something in the Table of Contents. I think I liked the art in the Vulcan guide a little better. I like the excursions. Some of the destinations were unexpected. I can think of a lot of guides I would like to see but I can only think of a couple titles I think would be popular enough to make a book about. I hope a third in the series is being planned.

Honestly, at this point I think I'm more curious about what Dayton's non-travel guide Insight Editions book will be.

And the e-book has been delayed AGAIN, now until Oct. 3rd. I'm honestly starting to get really pissed now. The fucking paperback has been out since July 11, and since then every time we get to about 2 weeks of the e-books release date it's gets pushed back another week or two.

I really like this book and the artwork used in it. Just why does the cover artwork of the First City look like a merging of the Tng and the Ent Version.
Will Q'onos look like this in Discovery?

I would assume it's because the cover artist used both for reference and may not have considered that they represented different periods. And who knows? Most cities have older and newer buildings coexisting. Maybe there are quarters of the First City that have both side by side. Heck, you'd think something called "the First City" would preserve a lot of older architecture.

Unless the cover artist of the book is also part of the show's art department, that seems unlikely.

Will there be changes and and new material in new editions after the arrival of Discovery?

That would probably depend on if there will be future editions, which we have not gotten any indication of yet.

In his interview on the Literary Treks podcast, Dayton did mention that he was aware of things in Discovery (since he's been working on the next DSC novel) while working on the travel guide, and it would be reasonable to assume that he took information from the new show into account. He was understandably nonspecific, but we'll probably be able to make some educated guesses once the show comes out ("Oh, he mentioned that because of this in the show," or "This must've been downplayed because it was retconned in the show").

Maybe the part about the Central Plains and the artwork with the Klingon skulls might be influenced by Discovery, when i think about it. Would be great if Dayton could confirm or deny it but i understand that he might not be able to do so because of not being allowed so by CBS.

    @Dayton Ward:
i have opened a thread about this issue on Reddit, i'd also like to hear your or all the other people on this board's opinion about what Rokeg Blood Pie exactly consists of, how it is prepared and what it tastes like.

As i have learned from your guide it seems that a Rokeg is sort of a klingon crocodile. Are they common on Q'onos or just living in a certain region on this planet?

Google Play and Kindle still say October 3 for me, maybe this is a US/UK thing. Hopefully if you guys got it today that means they'll come out here tomorrow.

Love looking at the maps without the “canyon” in the middle.

That was driving me crazy in the paperback version of the Vulcan travel guide and is the main reason I've been holding out for the e-book of the Klingon travel guide.
The e-books are finally out here and I just got the Klingon one.

Tempted to get the digital version, but IMO Travel guides are better as physical.
