If you could conduct a daring science experiment,what would it be on?

If money and research dollars weren't a limitation, if you could conduct a (serious, or humorous) daring present day science experiment in any field of science, what would it be on and why?

 

Time travel. Just need enough money for a DeLorean and some plutonium. And I'm pretty sure I have a way of securing some plutonium without having to pay for it...

Probes that can map a tornado like the movie Twister.... Or has that already been done for real?

Alternatively medical nanobots. I'd love to see something like that, that could wander around the body and be programmed to heal damage, or kill things like cancer cells.

I experiment with information ideas and create alternate versions of what people think ... as real.. then I interject them into conversations... like ---- so say..for example I state that..

the meat I ate tonight the animal it came from actually "knew" I would eat it so it let me eat it and died for me to eat it ---to be the meat of my dinner..

A particle supercollider around the circumference of the Earth. Must be plenty of new physics still to discover. However, for GUT energies, the collider would need to be light weeks in diameter and be powered by a Dyson swarm of solar collectors.

Uplifting of other species to sentinence on a par with humans. Probably requires nanomachines and DNA editing, which would have many other uses. Creates backup species hopefully with different outlooks and motivations.

Astronomical observatories on the far side of the Moon covering all wavelengths from gamma to radio simultaneously.

Anti-gravity. Cheap and applicable anti-gravity. It would revolutionize industries and life.

 

Add a linear accelerator to a plasma drive to boost the emitted particles to relativistic energies, increasing both their velocity and effective mass and therefore momentum (p = gamma.m.v, where the Lorentz factor gamma = 1/sqrt (1-(v/c)^2)), increasing effective thrust. I guess you'd first need to apply a transverse electric field to split the ions and electrons into separate streams and use separate accelerators for each. If you let the streams cross, you'd just recombine the plasma - no spooky shenanigans. I recall reading several years ago about a method to use photonic crystals as linear accelerators to shorten radically the required length of such a device.

Yes yes...... but that requires a specially laid surface. It won't just work anywhere.

 

Unfortunately, all the Unobtainium is 4.3 light years away - at least according to James Cameron. Perhaps when we have worked out a theory of quantum gravity that isn't full of infinities and inconsistencies, we might understand why inertial mass and gravitic mass appear to be equivalent and gain insight into how to manipulate one or the other mass term, or perhaps how to screen objects from gravitational fields.
