EMDrive, QM, FTL and You

Another interesting idea I came across in the past to explain the mass increase of ordinary objects as they approach c-

Since all matter can be described with a wavefunction, as an object (composed of matter) approaches c, it's wavefunction is doppler shifted. This shifts the object's matter wavefunction to frequency(s) (phase) that attract gravitons. As the object goes faster, it's "graviton affitnity" increases, like a magnet attracting iron filings.

More gravitons = more apparent mass.

You don't hear the the Doppler shift of the siren inside the ambulance, only outside of it when it drives by. Doppler shift can only be measured by the observer's reference frame, right?

EB2? I assume you don't mean the US visa category.

EB2 = Energy Band 2 (of reality)

See earlier post.

My fault for throwing out several ideas in this thread-

EMdrive efficacy
fundamental particles = quantum field natural frequencies/modes
Matter wavefunction Doppler shift the cause of mass gain near c
Concept of energy bands in our reality/universe, defined by energy/matter wavelength scales, resulting in the c base wave speed in our "band" and c^2 max wavespeed in EB2 (quantum scales and energies)

I guess not, because the sound waves you hear on the train are not shuifted in pitch due to your motion with the train. But the frequency of the soundwaves *is* pitch shifted for observers stationary relative to the moving train (sound emitter)

In our thought experiment for an object approaching c, its matter wavefunction would be Doppler shifted relative to external "stationary", ambient gravitons.

There is a separate forum for Trek science and tech. This is the real science and tech forum. You can post here if you like but I for one am not going to comment on stuff that doesn't pass even basic validity checks. You might get more footfall in the other forum. It's pretty quiet around here.

I experienced that with regard to hearing on the radio about Flixborough blowing before it actually did.

I don't have any explanation other than hallucination or re-resolved time lines.

I thought Sci-fi author Larry Niven was long dead.

I can't help but wonder--if there is anything at all to the EM drive--that they need the frustrum to be more...how to say this--granular.

The frustrums I've seen used are bulk metals. I wonder if something like this might work better

The experiment is also a success for string theory, or at least an offshoot of the underlying mathematics. But such attempts at a grand unified explanation of fundamental physics have been maligned because they do not produce testable predictions....
“It seems incredible even to me that all this works, falls all together and can be converted into something so down to earth as an electric current.”

I can't put my finger on it--but I have this idea that there has to be some granularity--micro-fabrication--tricks with topology--**something** to reach down and feel these forces...and magnify them (if they exist). Don't focus on one field of research. Have an interest in everything you can and look for connections.

Bulk metal construction might get in the way somehow.

Just throwing this out there for whatever it is worth.

In the mean time--I still support the brute force approach.
