This is the cover art for my new 200-page graphic novel, “Star Trek vs. Star Wars – A New Hope. It was done by a Ukrainian illustrator. I’m offering the book as a free download at Scribd.com. This is an historic cross-over, featuring the two great titans of Science Fiction. All I want is for people to read it. Here’s the URL.

I earned my Star Trek credentials in 1974 when I co-founded the Federation Trading Post, with stores in Berkeley, California, and New York City. It was the first retail store ever devoted to a television series. People Magazine published an article about us at the time (January 12, 1975).

    Live long and prosper,

I'm trying to put together a Wikipedia page for Federation Trading Post. It's a piece of history that should be documented.

I'll let you hijack your own thread. :)

That would be amazing. The history of 70's Star Trek when it was almost entirely the fan community is an astonishing thing. I think it's a pretty decent representation of what the audience felt Star Trek was or could be.

Myself I have a tremendous nostalgia for 80's fan Trek, but that was after the movies and before TNG. And as I later learned we were standing on the shoulders of the "wilderness years".

The perfect story for a cross over would be the mirror universe Section 31 assisting the Empire in building a massive--Super Star Destroyer sized Planet of the Titans ship with tech from both worlds in it.

    Extra-mean.
