It makes them look like generic aliens, not Klingons. Same as if you put long hair on a Vulcan, he looks like an elf. Hair has been important part of their design since the beginning.I think the hair removal is the best part of the new look. It actually makes them look like fucking aliens. Sort of.
Neither TMP Kolinahr ceremony Spock nor Sybok looked like an elf.It makes them look like generic aliens, not Klingons. Same as if you put long hair on a Vulcan, he looks like an elf. Hair has been important part of their design since the beginning.
I dont mean individual hairstyles. I mean design of the generic Klingon or Vulcan.Neither TMP Kolinahr ceremony Spock nor Sybok looked like an elf.
I think that the eyebrows break the tie.I dont mean individual hairstyles. I mean design of the generic Klingon or Vulcan.
Here we have two groups of people with pointed ears in long robes, which ones are immediately recognizable as Vulcan? The ones with the bowl cut or long hair? Same with Klingons.

The new ones look kind of like the Drazi from B5. Not fantasy, I know, but still...What other fantasy race looks like a bald Klingon?
That top image looks like a "Vulcan Community Theater" amateur production of Glengarry Glen Ross ("You see this watch? You see this watch? That watch costs more than your car").I dont mean individual hairstyles. I mean design of the generic Klingon or Vulcan.

The top picture is from ENT, which made the mistake of following TNG's lead in giving all Vulcans and Romulans almost the exact same hairdo for some bizarre reason. That top image looks like a "Vulcan Community Theater" amateur production of Glengarry Glen Ross ("You see this watch? A production look like that would not work in a serious TV drama today.
I'm fine with most Vulcans having the bowl cut, or at least some other short and practical hairstyle. I can totally see them concluding that this is the most logical hairstyle for most occasions. However, it is utterly bizarre that the Romulans, who have completely different culture that has diverged from Vulcans two millennia ago, would share this same affection to that particular hairstyle. The top picture is from ENT, which made the mistake of following TNG's lead in giving all Vulcans and Romulans almost the exact same hairdo for some bizarre reason.
Whereas in TOS and the TOS movies, we got a variety of Vulcanoid hair styles, even including the occasional bald ones. Vulcans weren't supposed to all look exactly the same.
Space Vikings? What other fantasy race looks like a bald Klingon?
I just read that Kol is from the House of Kor.
That is.. interesting.
But it isn't a reboot!![]()
I don't get the point of this post.
I meant interesting in a lore perspective.
So Kor is going to have a third different look in the same timeline? If these Klingons are part of his house, then he would obviously look similar.
Jeez, all I keep thinking now is a Vulcan Community Theater! ("Do you observe this timepiece? Do you observe this timepiece? This timekeeping device has more monetary value than your personal mode of transportation.")That top image looks like a "Vulcan Community Theater" amateur production of Glengarry Glen Ross ("You see this watch?
